  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Longer Range battery option

Toyota's vision of the future was hydrogen. Took too long to realize hydrogen was unworkable with both fuel supplies and fuel cell technology.

    Will Scouts be Plug&Charge Compatible

I assume Plug & Charge is a given with NACS connector. Hopefully the charging stations have the feature.

    E Axle Brand Poll

Yes the helical gear limited slip is better than anything on sand, mud and snow etc. Allows limited differentiation to keep the loose tire from spinning and losing all traction. For example when accelerating in a turn in the rain my clutch would lock the axles and get sideways... TrueTrac...

What are you driving until release?

Yes I may need to re-commission my 25 yo F150 as a daily driver since my I-Pace is in a recall to be repurchased. Could get stuck in an R1S or Lyriq.

    E Axle Brand Poll

I followed the link in post 35 and the graphic would seem to imply the TRACRITE-GT is available.

    Harvester + V2H Support?

I would not expect Scout to be a comprehensive home energy solution. Although if Scout can compliment an existing solar+battery system I am all in on that.

Slate truck/SUV flat tow confirmed by Slate

Definitely worth the cost of the option. And forget the automatic shift-on-the-fly hubs.

Flat Tow capability to beat Jeep

What fully electric Jeep can be towed 4-down? afaik the only magic in the Jeep is the transfer case with a neutral. Otherwise I am all in if Scout can manage the option.

    E Axle Brand Poll

I am more interested in the AAM TRACRITE-GT differential. Really like my current Eaton TrueTrac front and rear for running off pavement. Would easily pay for the option.

    Longer Range battery option

Great price. My utility is 10x that.

    Longer Range battery option

Rivian max is $6,000 and rated up to 81 extra miles. Although most reports seem to fall a bit short on miles. I would pay this as long as it did not take up ground clearance or cargo space.

Slate truck/SUV flat tow confirmed by Slate

Rivian said about the same and retracted before launch.
  13. T

    solid state battery option

When a stack of retail customers are bragging about the SSB with 100K+ miles I will start to be interested. Plenty of the existing chemistries have had issues. Not getting stuck again.

    Front Bench Seat

I would take the bench if it was one piece smooth across as we had in the '60s. Like a living room sofa

    Harvester towing

Yes I think the r was dropped.
  16. T

    Tow range

Yes and it is the second or third tank of gas when the range shortens. Otherwise need to stop for gas then stop for charging the battery, Towing 400 miles in a day is going to need more stops.

    Harvester towing

I would more concerned with towing up a long hill with a near depleted battery. Such as westbound I70 out of Denver and several others. Chevy Volt was known for having power limited in difficult conditions and that is not towing anything.

    Any California Events?

Love to see the Scout at the Los Angeles or Anaheim auto shows.

    Dynamic Power Management

Yes I had 30 amps charging at my last house. Did it matter if I was charged by 2am vs 6am? Yea never. Just 16A charger at my new house. No issues. OK if you have a monster commute or charge at home to drive professionally it could be different. For multiple vehicle homes with limited power...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

No issues what so ever. The connector is cold until the car reads and responds to the low voltage pilot signal. When all is good the vehicle starts charging. The connectors should remain free of ice although this would be a mechanical issue to actually insert the plug. You will know if...
