  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Harvester towing

Let me be more clear. The unhappy people have a specific use case we were excited about, and we're complaining because it looks like they are revising the specs towards no longer meeting that use case. We're hoping that the production team (who seems to read here) will see there's enough of us...

    Harvester towing

Lack of pull-through is a big part of it, but being able to refill the "generator" while boondocking and being able to go to Alaska are desirable. Though I might just do a long-term rental when I finally end up doing Alaska. I also don't expect the pull-throughs to hit remote areas quickly.

    Harvester towing

Everyone complaining wants the Harvester version, not the EV version. Towing with an EV is a non-starter. I'm not going to unhitch to charge every 200 miles.

    Harvester towing

Ooooph. 5k isn't enough for me either. The whole reason I'm looking at a Scout is because of boondocking with a trailer. My current trailer is about 3400lbs, and my current TV handles 4500lbs. It's workable, but there's minimal margins and I can't upgrade to anything larger in the future...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Having a trailer/RV camera rearview integrated would be really nice. Though even just the existing mounting bar on top of the dash is a serious upgrade to the current situation for me.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

So I'd like to see an "RV power cord adapter" option for the bidirectional charging. If I could easily run my RV by plugging it into the NACS port... That'd be amazing. Worst case I'd make do with a V2L 20a port (or the 240v port on the Terra), but it'd be really nice to be able to run the RV...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

That should be entirely a software thing. I think there's still some fine-tuning the engineers need to do on throttle response curves to compensate for electric motors having 100% torque available at 0 RPM. The first time I used 1 pedal drive in my Bolt is was a little jerky (and my wife still...

    Front seat configuration

I was talking to my wife about the Scout earlier today, and when I saw a pic of the bench seat wondered how flat it could fold down. Man it would be amazing if you could turn it into a "kinda-sorta" bed. Even if I have to throw some memory foam over the top.

Towing a Off-Road Trailer with the Terra

Annnnd, just saw in another thread that someone talked to Scout at the reveal, and has it on really good authority that the Harvester edition has a 150mile EV range and 350mile gas range. I _really_ hope that's accurate cause it would totally address my towing needs.

    Questions about the Harvester

Just caught up on this thread, and I'm thrilled to learn that the Harvester has a smaller battery and larger gas tank. Almost all charging stations are in parking spots, not pull-through setups, so you'd have to unhitch and re-hitch your trailer if you're doing a roadtrip. Ain't no way I'm...

Towing a Off-Road Trailer with the Terra

I'm interested in a Terra as well (but for my 17' fiberglass camper), but I'm concerned about using the range-extender to tow. There's not enough pull-through DCFC around yet to make towing all-electric viable for me (I'm not gonna inhitch/hitch every gas stop), but the way the Range Extended...
