  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

June 2025 Scout Motors Production Center Update

CDs can be nice. Marcus Goldman Sachs had the best rates last year but it’s worth checking with all the major banks.

A good discussion about gas motor/generator size vs. highway driving efficiency

Interesting article. Charging speed will be an issue. Companies really lean into the people only drive 40 miles a day thing but people want to have to option of driving farther, especially weekend warriors. Taking more than an hour to charge…yikes.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Wow, exciting! It was interesting to hear about how they track eye movements to design layouts

    Pavement Queen

Hi, welcome. Looks nice. I don’t mind the look but I’m way too practical myself to lower a vehicle.

    Pavement Queen

It would surprise me if stock suspension went that low. First time someone bottomed out making a turn into a parking lot com-any would be on the hook for warranty repairs. If lowering is like raising you also have to address drivetrain alignment, tie rods, etc.

The Ideal Scout Motors DashCam system!

    I do like having dashcam.

How would you build your Scout?

How would you build your Scout?

I wouldn’t do headlocks unless you’re planning on airing tires down below 12 psi. They are a bear to balance and change tires with. If you just like the lock there are fake beadlocks.

Poll: What Tires Do You Want To See On Your Scout?

Whatever tire will perform reasonably well in snow, rain and dry pavement. Not an off-road tire…to much wear on paved surface. 30”…maybe 32”.

    Tax credit removal

It won’t. Tesla would raise and lower their price based on what tax incentive was available at the time (this was when they had pricing power). I don’t really think I ever actually got anything. May have been different for other manufacturers though.

Thinking of a looooong road trip as an intro:

You have the right idea. For first time EV owners there’s weirdly too much enough and not enough of the right info all at the same time. Asking questions and joining local groups is the way to go. I’m so sad I’m the only member of my North Dakota group here on the official community, lol.

Thinking of a looooong road trip as an intro:

lol, yep. I’m in North Dakota so I have a built in longish roadtrip.

    Hey Lady Scouts!!

If you have an iPhone it will report a car accident if the phone comes to a sudden stop…my phone reported a car accident to the police when I’d left it on car roof and it flew off . That and voice assist “Call Dad”, etc, I’d think would be fine.

2025 prototype paint project preferred colors

Well, I don’t see it as being a top choice for a lot of people, lol. But aftermarket Rallye stripes would be fun. Aquamarine with white/pink/red gradient stripes?

    CCS and NACS

Can’t block a parking lot with a trailer, lol. There’s going to be a lot of circumstances where trailer will need to be dropped to charge. Very few pull through chargers around.

    CCS and NACS

Yes. I have adapters for J1772, CCS, and for a whole host of RV post and dryer plugs, lol. The trick is to not leave your adapter attached to the charger.😉

2025 prototype paint project preferred colors

One setup for 33s and 35s is fine as long as a nice compromise for sway bars, etc, angles is met. You’d just have to have wheel clearance based on the 35s.

2025 prototype paint project preferred colors

Hot metallic pink. But since that’s unlikely I liked the metallic green of the museum scout, with Rallye stripes or the aquamarine blue. I’m usually partial to reds…could see getting red and doing pink rallye stripes.

The One-Ton Problem with Scout’s Harvester Range Extender

This answer is confusing. You start by saying main use case is not towing. Use case is around town and occasionally a sub 5K trailer. Then you state if it can’t do the 7K you’re out, lol. If you need less than 5K it feels like you’re fine. Specs aren’t announced yet but it seems, based on your...
