  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Camper Shell

I just want to say I wish you hadnt shared this because I cant get the idea of the Scout Olympic on a Scout Terra out of my head. I have been looking at them for a few weeks now and they are creeping up my list each day.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

LMAO 😂 Can’t say I’ve had the pleasure but that sounds diabolical. This wasn’t a sober thought, but I remember almost flopping into the passenger seat a few times when I got rowdy in my old 4Runner.

    CYURE GOES TO NATIONALS!!! Yay!!!

I love this thread. So many excellent photos. Your husband deserves that camera :) I have perused through a few times, but did you get a measurement of the cargo area depth? I cant seem to find one if there is.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I have a possibly terrible idea. In Offroad Mode, seat belts have more resistance. I will be selecting the bench seat and understand there are trade-offs involved like a lack of seat bolsters. When you are off camber in the rough stuff you dont want to slide over into your passenger so I was...

I get why some people delete them. The repairs can be prohibitively expensive and they have a lot of issues if you own a diesel one ton as a status symbol that never gets worked hard enough to burn out the soot. But they could at least add a high flow cat as a courtesy to everyone else. I hate...

The hell they are! haha There are plenty of roads out here that get massive potholes from cattle trailers and guys dragging 15 bales of hay to their pastures on a gooseneck flatbed. The roads are definitely not built for it, but they eventually get repaired and life goes on. I mean if you...

Texas is full of 3/4 ton diesels that weigh just as much as a Rivian R1S and make the same amount of torque as the Gen 2 Quad, and I never hear people talk about them damaging roads. I also highly doubt everyone is launching their EVs in Track Mode at every stoplight on their way to drop the...

I would love to buy American too, like the Ford Ranger Super Duty you cant buy in the US (despite it being an American company) with a small displacement diesel and 9,920lb towing capacity. it would meet the needs of most American pickup owners with its adequate power and has great fuel range...

I think Tri is for people that will actually go offroad on moderate trails occasionally. The torque vectoring in the rear would give you similar performance to having a rear locker. Not really hardcore, but would attract the same type of people shopping for the TRD Pro Sequoia.

Correct. When you drive above 70km/h it can engage a clutch to directly power the front wheels. But in those tests they were driving below those speeds so the engine was just functioning as a generator.

You do realize your Rivian has parts from China too, right? Assembled in America doesnt mean Made in America. Anyways, its the same basic concept with a smaller battery. Yet they crossed the desert without using a charger.

The BYD Shark videos I shared would be a great reference. Several guys have crossed the Simpson Desert in Australia without a charger and strictly using gas.

Poll: Would you use a Scout configurator tool if pricing and details are not finalized yet?

Expectations are the thief of joy. If they are clearly set upfront, it’s on you if you get upset. So I won’t be looking for a tow rating sticker on the configurator 😂

What feature(s) do you hope that Scout does NOT include?

It’s just part of the ritual for so many people. I don’t want to tell you how many times I reached for the choke lever in my 2010 Tacoma after I sold my 1978 Ford F150. Some habits die hard 😂

I can’t believe they got rid of Limestone too. It was a beautiful color.
