  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Around here they will just laugh in your face and say, "Thats fine. The next person will buy it."

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Same with my Lexus. You had to buy a NAV DVD periodically to update it. One for each coast. My Nav DVD player broke last year. They dont make the Nav DVD player anymore and I couldnt find a new motor for it so i ended up replacing the whole head unit with an Android head unit. It was a PITA...

What feature(s) do you hope that Scout does NOT include?

I enjoy animated turn signals and added them to my 2004 Lexus GX. Maybe they will give us some control over options like that so everyone is happy.

Scout Motors Needs to Rethink “Local” Service. Don't do the Tesla model.

This is from the article I linked to above. They gamed out a repair and show how it will work from initial service request to paying the invoice once its done through the app. They determine there is a fault with a window regulator which is the initial complaint, and while they are performing...

    Harvester towing

No worries! For what its worth many of us share your concerns and dont want you to feel alienated or anything. There are just a lot of unkowns and we are trusting that Scout is aware of it and trying to do their best to give us as much capability as they can.

Crap I didnt even think about that. Has anyone confirmed there will be a carpet delete option?

    Harvester towing

Welcome to the forum! This was two pages back. At this time this is about an official response as we can get from Scout about towing capacities. Just going off of what many people here have said, most would prefer retaining the frunk. Jamie also confirmed there are test mules running around...

Scout Motors Needs to Rethink “Local” Service. Don't do the Tesla model.

Just to mitigate any assumptions or baseless theories, this is currently Scouts official model for service and support. https://www.theautopian.com/heres-scouts-full-presentation-on-how-it-plans-to-sell-and-fix-cars-without-dealers/comment-page-1/?ref=autonews.io#! A majority of repairs...

Maybe we will get lucky and initial reservations will have a discount. Also depending on how they package options and configurations you may be able to buy certain things you wanted and add them over time from a Scout Accessory Store or 3rd parties.

I cannot fault you for that. Thats a significant amount of money for a majority of the country. It sucks because they are in the price bracket of people that are affected a lot more by it than folks that are shopping for Rivians and Lucids.

Oh my apologies. It will have a frunk. They were just showing the packaging of the components underneath that area.

It is the Slate. EVs typically have a high voltage system that is the battery pack, motors, regen brakes, etc. Typically a 400V system is overkill for some parts of your car. But for things like your window motors, headlights, doors, stereo, blinkers etc. they use a separate low voltage...

Poll: Would you use a Scout configurator tool if pricing and details are not finalized yet?

https://community.scoutmotors.com/threads/vehicle-visualizer-configurator-tool.2578/ I have made a post requesting a Visualizer Tool in the Suggestion Box if yall want to add anything else and/or vote on it there.

It cant be independent if its connected. Thats the opposite of independence.

The low voltage battery in the trunk is so tiny! It looks like the one I have on my motorcycle lol

Since they hubs are joined it will behave like a solid rear axle. Better articulation, but a more truck like ride.

I have no idea what to call this setup. Its like an IRS/Solid axle hybrid. The rear diff uses CV shafts like most independent rear suspension setups, but has a solid axle tube running to both rear hubs.
