  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

They also delayed their BEV Range Rover :( https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/britains-jlr-delays-launch-range-rover-jaguar-evs-guardian-reports-2025-07-18/

    Unconventional spokesperson…

Nick Offerman would be perfect honestly. He is a huge advocate for our national parks and the outdoors.

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

You can always sell them and put that towards the new set

One feature that made you pull the the trigger on a reservation….

Welcome! We really hope it’s accessible for everyone. If you adjust the original price of a 1968 Scout Travelall 1000C had an original MSRP of $3,169, it would cost around $29,348 in today’s money with inflation. Hopefully once they get enough volume going they will be able to give us...

    solid state battery option

They don’t even give you a choice on some models like the Sequoia. All of them are hybrids that have mediocre fuel range. No plug in option. It’s funny that they are really leaning into off-roading and overlanding thing, but are not making the vehicles more capable of doing those things...

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

Just remember, there were people that raised hell when wearing a seatbelt became required by law. Change just freaks a lot of people out, even if it’s to their benefit.

Thoughts on Long-Term Charging Plans for Overlanding and Rural Travel?

Let’s make a poll for your next project. I want to vote for you completing that big beautiful garage first!

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Welcome. I do believe there was a mention or photo with a snow plow attachment when they had the launch events last year.

Thoughts on Long-Term Charging Plans for Overlanding and Rural Travel?

I work full time but one of the best offroad parks is only an hour away so I used to go 2-3 weekends a month when I had a vehicle set up for off-roading. There is RV parking and primitive camping. Some little air conditioned cabins too. Lots of fun trails for dirt bikes and 4x4s. My wife is a...

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

Just use a faraday cage and reassure the Scout that it’s not in jail 😂 We are honestly pretty screwed if someone can hack the in real time using the NIC card. Even if you don’t opt for the required camera system hardware for driver assist technology, it could still be remotely controlled if...

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

Think positive! I would finally have an excuse for talking to my toaster and the computers could argue for us while we wait for the Travelall.

Thoughts on Long-Term Charging Plans for Overlanding and Rural Travel?

I guess it depends on what you would consider technical terrain, weather conditions, and how much “Spirited Driving” is going on. Sandy conditions, rocky Conditions, snowy conditions, and muddy conditions tend to require more energy by their nature. Some more than others. More stop and go on...

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

There are lot of fear mongers here that would rather not have some features at all than choose not to use them.

Thoughts on Long-Term Charging Plans for Overlanding and Rural Travel?

I have looked at 7.3 F250 Tremors and 3.0 Duramax Trail Boss since they offer some offroad capability and a bench seat option. The first mods would be the Transferflow 58 gallon tank replacement on the Tremor (around 870 miles of range) or the Titan 43 gallon tank replacement on the Trail Boss...

Thoughts on Long-Term Charging Plans for Overlanding and Rural Travel?

I have a reservation for a Dart Solar unit but wanted to wait and see how reviews and testing goes. https://www.dartsolar.com/ DIY would be Plan B. But I do like that the Go Sun unit plugs directly into the car without needing a separate solar generator. That’s a pretty big deal.

Buying a first gen product makes you a beta tester. This is a really confusing and contradictory statement, but okay.

I think its clear that they arent ruling anything out. So its not up to anyone to say what risks they are willing to take.
