  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Poll- What have you Reserved... Let's get a small idea of the take rates.

In the last 14-18 months, battery prices for CATL company batteries are down almost 50% to $53 per KWh. IF that trend continues, and there is a glut in the Lithium market (only 2.5 years ago Toyota claimed there would only be enough lithium in the WORLD for every car to have a 1 KWh battery)...

Adaptive Driving beams and thermal imaging.

J Alynn, Haven’t bought a Rivian R1T/S or model S/X or cyber for many reasons. I can afford them but I don’t think they are worth $100K. Their depreciation proves that to me. However, battery prices have come down from $100 a KWh years ago to $53 a KWh and I hope some of this cost savings can...

I think I started it in the suggestion box.

Adaptive Driving beams and thermal imaging.

Adaptive Driving beams on Scout! While about 32% of driving is in the dark, over 50% of fatal accidents occur in the dark/at night. https://www.nsc.org/road/safety-topics/driving-at-night While ‘Auto high beams’ are ubiquitous, they are not the same as Adaptive Driving Beams (ADBs). EU...

Scout to have dashcams. But better than….

Hmm J Alynn, my reply didn’t go through: With ADAS cameras, zonal architecture and central computing, most of this is already built in and a sunk cost. Tesla FSD uses only cameras (no LIDAR or sonic sensors anymore) and the dashcam functionality to include live two way, sentry mode parking...

Scout to have dashcams. But better than….

J Alynn, I’d buy that option. Of course, Rivian and Tesla build it in. IMHO, all competitors will build it in and if Scout doesn’t, they’ll be behind their competitors. It’s similar to No CarPlay. I have several Family Members who won’t buy a Tesla, Rivian or now GM EV with no CarPlay...

Scout to have dashcams. But better than….

Hey Scoutsie, Most of the features I mention already exist on either Tesla using inexpensive attached SSDs, Rivian’s too, for storage, H.264 or .265 and Rivian’s, I believe in version 2 R1T 2025 now has 4K cameras. Tesla has all the remote connectivity and access to live views now and for...

Scout to have dashcams. But better than….

Hey dleepnw, Tesla’s ADAS and FSD , so called, seems to work fine and separately from the, at least 4 , camera views always running. Most features I mention already exist in the VIOFO A229 Pro 3 channel I have installed myself in one daughter’s car. It was a pain and I had to install a battery...

    Ideas for Scout Engineers

Agree with everything. I’d like Adaptive Driving beams instead of auto high/low. Rivian has Adaptive Driving beams and they are far safer with less glare to oncoming cars. As an ED Doc and Radiologist, I’ve seen the consequences of night time crashes and drivers saying they couldn’t see or were...

Scout to have dashcams. But better than….

Lancaster is nice. I live in Cleveland suburbs, have a garage and my daughter lives in Philly. I used to practice with UPMC in Western PA for twelve years in Hermitage and Greenville right on the the Ohio border, but I’m a native Clevelander. Not really fear but when things happen, nice to...

Scout to have dashcams. But better than….

Dashcams in all Scouts are a must. But they need to be better: 1. Recording always all around in at least 4K (8K better) with HDR. Many dashcams do not have HDR and license plates of other cars are blurred underway, especially at night. Should work with VIOFO or THINKWARE or Blackview or all to...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Dashcam and all the functionality that goes with them. I now realize Scout Terra has a roll down rear window (hard for Traveler with split tail to have this). I also realize both Terra and Traveler have 240V in the bed.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I’m going to list them all, in no particular order: Full Adaptive Driving Beams (not USA crippled version). Dashcams, 4 k with sound Parking mode (‘Sentry Mode’). ‘Live ‘ Dashcams accessed from anywhere with two way communication. Midgate truck with auto down window integrated rather than the...
