  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Cameras Scout has shown bring up questions

Hello All, Scout at CES showed an under carriage camera feed like this while underway at the 14:40 minute mark: At time 14:40 minutes in the video. While I know its a prototype, as stated in the video by Dre, it brings up several questions: 1. What is the resolution? It looks good in the...

    Customizable remainders/warnings

We have a PHEV Q5. Only 27 miles range if we’re lucky or my lead foot wife is driving. What I wish is you could set a speed at which a PHEV or EREV switches to electric only or gas (generator or PHEV) power only. We like using the efficient electric motor at low speeds around town and the gas...

It would keep the excitement going to see it!

Range extender - please adjust spec to 250 miles of EV Range

Out of curiosity, based on how this is written, what other Slavic language do you speak (shot in the dark?). My wife is Croatian and the language patterns in English you use are similar to my relatives when they speak English. Makes me curious if you speak another language?

Range extender - please adjust spec to 250 miles of EV Range

Those are some tiny font letters and numbers!

    Adventure Key - NFC wristband

I think this is a good solution. Hope it deactivates ‘phone as a key’ so that the phone can be locked in the vehicle too. Of course, you can always turn off the phone.

    Adventure Key - NFC wristband

Can’t Scout just put a keypad external to the B pillar and we can type in a code? Worked on my 1995 Explorer for 15 years.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I like mine in my Audi Q5 PHEV and A5 Cab.

    Instrument Cluster

    Not complex enough!

    Backseat Legroom SUV

VW Bus EV does this really well. Not that you want a Bus. Or 3 rows. However, Scout should be able to tap that VW Group know how to incorporate it.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

There should be much more to the HUD than just showing your speed. NAV, and other info that keeps your head up and eyes on the road is very helpful in avoiding accidents on multi lane, crowded highways at speed.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

I mean, I’m old and still have a very few CDs lying around. But I have no vehicle now that can play one after trading in my 2005 Acura TL A-spec 6MT in 2017 for my current ride, 2018 A5 Cab. My 3 daughters SUV’s they inherited are from 2015-2017 and don’t play CD’s. My Wife’s 2021 Q5 PHEV HAS...

Traveler Ultimate Wish List for Scout Motors

I’ve only seen ‘night vision’ on a Mercedes. Rivian has Adaptive Driving Beams. The only US production vehicle that has ADBs active. In Europe, Audi and others have ADBs with additional lights to ‘highlight’ pedestrians and animals on the side of the road. I hope Scout Motors will as well.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

That is very “all inclusive”. Now, I’d like everything you list; And Harvester Towing in Terra of at least 8,500 lbs. Traveler is already lower than I want at 7,000 lbs but with a Harvester either at 5,000 lbs needs fixin’. And I’d add : Service and Delivery Centers closer to Parks or less...

Blind Spot Turn Signal Camera Displayed in Instrument Cluster

I've tried and tried and tried to get my Wife and three daughters to do this, but they always set their mirrors so they see the side of the car in 1/2 the mirror. I've tried to explain why this makes no sense but no use.

    Harvester towing

BlueRidgeTraveler: Agree! I think the Pebble Flow is 6800 lbs loaded so 7,000 lbs and tongue weight of 10% would work. Unfortunately, with a Harvester we're told it's 5,000 lbs. Lightship is even more at 8,300 lbs fully loaded. So, only Terra BEV could do it and then, maybe, if the self...

    Dealership cartels - horror stories

Perfect example why I never want to deal with a stealership again. What a waste of your time and effort and money and emotions. Glad you stood your ground. I've had dealerships here call to tell me I still owed "$250" or "$1250" on a completed deal because they 'forgot' to charge me for X. Such...

    Seat Height Specs

Agree. I'm getting older at 59.5 yo and while I have no physical limitations, it's coming. Also, I have a long torso and average length legs so I need to push the seat all the way down always and need more back and headrest height than others.
