  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

How would you build your Scout?

I’ve got a Baltimore -> Rockies move coming next year with just two cats…I thought the 11 hours up here from Georgia was rough, I feel for you!

    Scout Color Poll #1

I would love to consider a chrome or polished package for trim and wheels - maybe just a render with the offroad package. @Jamie@ScoutMotors if the graphics department has any spare cycles… And because I know at least a couple someones are going to ask…maybe even a yellow version?

    Scout Color Poll #1

Not once in my life have I ever considered a yellow car (except maybe dreaming of a Lamborghini). But damn if @cyure isn’t burning it into my brain. (I’m still going green. Or maybe a good ruby. Or will I go basic and get white to hide scratches?)

    Center Headrest

If rear visibility is anything like my Bronco with that spare, folding down the headrests isn’t going to make any difference. One of the few luxury/tech features I’d consider is a digital rear view. Every time I drive a vehicle with one it’s like magic. If it’s not an option (or it gets...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Wow, that is…huge. Honda is using GM’s ultium platform for their first few EVs (pilot, I think) but VW has plenty of resources to build their own. Kind of surprised they didn’t. Really speaks (hopefully) to R2’s quality.

    Door Handles!

Relevant to this thread, Jamie has said they’ll be mechanical door handles. Post in thread 'Extra, Extra....Read All About It!' https://community.scoutmotors.com/threads/extra-extra-read-all-about-it.172/post-34945

    Travelall 3 Row

I don’t think it would actually sell in volume because we have a cultural desire for bigger and better. But damn if I don’t want a 2 door SUV wide enough for a front bench, with a truck bed that had seats bolted to it like the old K5s

    Charging while driving…Wild, irresponsible speculation...

This is why I was confused. 100kw is 134hp…that is extremely within the realm of possibility for an NA 4cyl. 23mpg efficiency seems optimistic to me for off road 35s, but not for some street focused tires. What am I missing here? Very new to EVs.

    Charging while driving…Wild, irresponsible speculation...

Why are you skeptical it will be steady state at 70 on the flats? Doesn’t take much power to run steady state.

    Charging while driving…Wild, irresponsible speculation...

Scout has stated that the target is a 70mph steady state while running harvester.

    Charging while driving…Wild, irresponsible speculation...

Sounds like there’s a market for someone to convert m110 trailers to have a Tesla battery and some charging equipment, in addition to an RTT and supplies! Honestly, I’d think about a full BEV Scout with that sort of trailer option. Even if it’s a case of parking to plug into the external...

How would you build your Scout?

I’m assuming that with harvester, bench seat, and offroad package I’ll be sitting at 75k before incentives. I really hope it’s under 70 and that the tax credits get me in the 50s, but that seems…unlikely. I figure if air suspension is mandatory with offroad package I won’t see less than 75 no...

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

In 2019, when I worked for Hyundai, you could buy a $21,000 Sonata with adaptive cruise and lane centering. Having played with SuperCruise which is arguably the best driver assist suite out there (on mapped roads*) all I really want is adaptive cruise with stop and go, and lane centering...

Scout Traveler SUV Green Off-Road Concept

Very thorough. Thanks for sharing! I’m still (maybe irrationally) leery of full air struts but this is very reassuring.

Scout Traveler SUV Green Off-Road Concept

What are your past three vehicles, and what’s the current one? Haven’t heard of anything running traditional shocks +air for offroad. Also - the biggest sources of my skepticism are : 1. Simplicity/ruggedness of steel vs air (though I know air has improved greatly in the last 20) 2. Speed. My...

And while I’m generally hoping that the offroad package doesn’t mandate air suspension, I wouldn’t be opposed to air leveling in the rear. Should be able to double for load leveling and car-camp leveling.

These are cool, I’d never heard of them!

    But manually adjustable? Nah.

Scout Traveler SUV Green Off-Road Concept

Need? Probably not. Fancy adjustable shocks that adjust their stiffness hundreds or thousands of times per second (like the ones I mentioned above) definitely smooth out road irregularities on pavement though and have luxury applications. When I first drove something (a ZL1) with magnetic ride...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Bronco has one on the inside rear roll bar too!
