  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Locking Differentials Question

My memory - OEM tends to be rear or all. There is a lot of discussions online when and where what is best. Allowing front only is not hard to do, just an extra switch - but I think OEM avoids it because it means your front locker/axle needs to be able to stand more abuse. Real issue is there...

    Super Bowl Commercial?

Honestly, I don't see the need to spend huge amounts in advertising before a product is ready for sale. In a perfect world, the product should advertise itself.

what's this in bed of Terra

They might work like mollie panels - but they are avoiding the look (and honestly, I seriously doubt it will work like mollie panels). Mollie is a woven "Pouch Attachment Ladder System". Both sides have 25mm straps (let's say horizontal, with 25mm spaces between the straps), stitched to the...

Scout Motors - who are your competitors?

Will need to see it. 4runner is 4" narrower, and 5" less tall. Length is spot on. Not to mention that the 4runninger almost certainly going to be MUCH lighter. That said, the 4runner uses it's width better than Wranglers and Broncos. My Tacoma is Gen 1, so considerably smaller than the...

Yep, not looking forward to pegging the needle.

Scout Motors - who are your competitors?

Scout Length Without Spare Wheel Carrier: 190.9 in Width Without Mirrors: 79.9 in Width With Mirrors: 91.6 in Max Height: 76.3 in Wheelbase: 120.4 in Tahoe 211″ L x 81″ W x 76-77″ H, 120.9 wheelbase. Tahoe's were originally 2 row, with a decent amount of space behind the rear seat. The Scout...

Entry Model Specs, Premium Model Price?

Lots of economics involved. Tesla Cybertruck is currently limited to production capacity rather than demand. Last I read that was limited to battery production. They had planned on using a dry process battery, and after years of trying to get it to work, they recently retooled. Rivian is...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

lidar and AI might work. NV and the human mind might not. A deer (or many other animals) have natural camouflage. I have had thermal and NV in hand - deer were completely standing out with thermal, and invisible with NV. Human mind would probably see them when they move - but sometimes that...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Came home from a long night drive this morning (6hr drive in darkness). I hate to think about paying for it, but one tech option that might be nice (and honestly, will probably be mandatory in 5 years) will be some sort of thermal collision avoidance. OMG the number of deer that wanted to...

Scout Motors - who are your competitors?

Originally thought that the Scout would target the Wrangler/Bronco market - but this is what I think they are actually targeting 2025 Z71 Tahoe. The dimentions of this are very close to the Traveler. Price range is close too :(

More lift, less lift, or just right.

I don't know about air springs, but more traditional air bags were used in some trucks to compensate for payload. In theory, you could keep the stock springs lighter (like on a 1/2 ton), but you could air up to carry a full load on a 3/4 ton (maybe even a 1 ton) without the back of the truck...

Entry Model Specs, Premium Model Price?

There are several classes of options. A few might have high production costs (next gen batteries). Some might be highly divisive (glass roof, vehicle lift) - either due to their changes in ascetics, performance, or ergonomics. Many are simply ways of creating market segmentation. The...

What do you love or hate about other off-road vehicles

Offroad can mean different things to different people at different times. 4wd does not really mean real off road. My primary hate is one that Scout will have extreme difficultly addressing. Heavy vehicles can have huge off road difficulties in certain situations. Take my F250. It has...

    Instrument Cluster

Given that it appears to be entirely digital (no mechanical components), multiple options should not be an issue. I personally generally prefer to keep a fairly large mph number visible most of the time, but also like to be able to cycle through various monitoring options (a lot of data is...

Future Model: Scout Sport- Smaller, and more efficient, but still capable.

Jeeps started as virtually compact vehicles, gradually transitioned through mid-sized, and now most posters on this forum seem to think they are full sized (so I will say small full sized). Full sized SUV's have 2 more larger sizes, native 2 row (abet some cram in a 3rd row) and native 3 row)...

Manual Control of 4x4 system instead of silly GOAT like modes

Mostly as a joke, as I do not see using my Scout for this - but I feed cattle. Low is great to get the speed I want so the feeder drops with the intervals I want. Not like you can set cruise control for 2mph - well at least not in an ICE vehicle. Flip side, I doubt many Scout purchasers will...

🚨 **Is the New Scout Shaking Up the Off-Road World?** 🚨

Honestly, I don't recall many of those statement from the reveal. They are kind of mirrored in quite few threads, mostly by people fearful of this becoming a something more akin to the high tech Cybertruck than a Scout. While I don't really agree that tech should be excluded, I think the...

Manual Control of 4x4 system instead of silly GOAT like modes

Sadly education trumps modes - and honestly, if you have the education - modes are probably not only limiting but confusing. I could easily go into a rant. EV's will get around some limitation, will impose others. I don't mind the option of modes, I hope they are understandable, and honestly...

    Ditch the Wheel Arch Plastic

I have no problem with the minimal arches. This is supposed to be an off-road 4x4. If they want to go vanilla SUV, just ditch most of the design I guess - you don't need ground clearance (and the people who want them don't want to lift their feet up that high), you don't need 4x4, you don't...

    Wheel Options

My LJ required a user changeable gear to re-calibrate its speedometer - $15. Our newer JL I think does it digitally. With ICE vehicles, transmission gearing is a bigger issue - but I think given the torque of the electric motors - this will be less important. Suspension changes and body...
