  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Audible pedestrian warning noise

I can joke, but off road tires do a pretty good job of making noise themselves.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I apparently was mistaken. Tesla does offer 3-phase charging, but only outside the US. On top of that, they apparently have discontinued making vehicles capable of 80amp 240v charging - leaving the Ford (all Tesla vehicles apparently now max out at 12kw/h - even though some earlier vehicles...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

The Scout is going to have a large battery - 3 phase home charging has not been mentioned. Ford did allow for a faster home charger, but it was an expensive option. I think several Teslas have a faster home charging capability built into the vehicle - with all that is really needed is an...

List Your 10 Favorite Things About the New Scouts

It took me a few days to figure this out - but honestly it might be my favorite thing about the Scout. It does not scream EV. Scout did not focus on making it look EV different. It looks beautiful, but in a traditional way. When I look at it, I don't see EV written all over the design. Car...

    Camper Shell

I have had several vehicles with hard top camper shells. For sleeping, a 6.5' cap is MUCH nicer than a 5.5' cap - to the extent that the 5.5' cap is almost useless for sleeping. You can go over the sides of the bed to get the width necessary for a mattress - but then for most slide in campers...

    Cab Options

In the traditional dealer model - floor plans cost money. Stocking more costs money. Now some dealers do get incentives to be regional inventory storehouses - but most dealers don't have the acreage to do that. So dealers stock what they think they can sell with the most margin. When I got...

So, how many reservations so far?

I reserved within a few minutes of the presentation ending - probably should have opened a second browser and reserved when they said reservations were open. That said, perhaps it is not a bad thing to let someone else deal with any potential bugs from the first few weeks/months of production.

    Duck, Duck......Scout?

So far I have found that ducks tend to be on Jeeps most likely driven by females. I have a nice LJ, that has been duck free my entire ownership.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Phone/Watch entry or keypad. It is nice to be able to lock up your non-waterproof keyfob in a vehicle occasionally. It is also very nice to be able to just open the door when you are not carrying your keys because you are driving something else - but realized your sun glasses are still in the...

    Gas Powered Range Extender

I kind of think he misses the point completely with his video. Dodge has the motor it has so it can tow. They did not want a truck that was useless for towing because of the EV range loss. If Scout does not focus entirely on the towing market (and why should they, 1/2 ton trucks are rarely...

So, how many reservations so far?

We are all curious how many reservations are coming in. Not sure what a good number would be. Any hints when Scout might start bragging about the numbers?

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

The refrigerated cool box is a nice idea - but am curious how it will be implemented. I think in theory my glove compartment in my VW is supposed to do that - and I honestly have never noticed or used it as such. I guess cool and cold are very different things. If it is insulated and can keep...

How much personalization/modification ability do you want to see in the new Scout?

I do like the fact that they are already planning on different bumpers. That said, like many things, they are a matter of personal preference, so I hope the allow aftermarket options. I personally have enjoyed ranch hand grill guards and replacement bumpers. All it really takes is saving one...

Would you be more inclined to purchase if...

While I occasionally wish I had a 2nd truck - I need my 3/4 ton, so an ICE Scout really does not interest me that much. Plus, I will never own another truck with only a 5.5' bed. Perhaps if they offered it with a 6' flatbed... But honestly, I am most interested in the EV, not another ICE.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

The reinforced hard top on my LJ weights about 175lbs with the platform removed first. It is a bit of a hassel to get on and off even with a second adult helping. I am sure I could build a hoist - but honestly I don't really need to remove it. I got it on, that was enough. I did need to...

Missing DOT Clearance & Identification lights

Saw on another forum that a Scout employee confirmed that the body width (without mirrors) is 79.9".

Optional full hard top for rack/camping/overlanding

I have said this in many threads - and given they are doing factory direct sales it should not be a problem. Offer us a hardtop - preferably reinforced and insulated. Virtually every cursed vehicle I have purchased from a dealer has had some sort of sun roof. I DON"T want one. My F250 is my...

Getting up to speed with EV tech

I would seriously bet that the acceleration can be adjusted via software (valet mode, young adult mode, economy mode, sport mode - etc...). Torque is a natural feature of these electric motors. At the end of the day, I suspect it is not all that costly to get - and not much benefit to give up...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

IIRC I saw a built in compressor in the frunk - not sure how much air it moves - which is a big deal for some off roaders (I have a dual ARB in my LJ, and it is slow compared to a CO2 tank. What I did not see is a hose - but that is easy if the quick disconnect is universal. Any air compressor...
