  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Vintage Scout Commercials/Ads

OK, I got some and this is probably the only place this will be appreciated. In 1977, I was 8 and my dad bought a brand new SSII - being my dad he didn't spend money unless he had to, so it had the mighty in-line 4 and an AM radio, but otherwise was perfect. This was the car I learned to drive...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

OK, one more real world story in case anybody is still on the fence - these are the kind of posts I was looking for 6 months ago, before I got a BEV, so hopefully somebody finds these useful. Took mom out for lunch last week - total round trip was 102 miles, primarily high speed highway and...

One feature that made you pull the the trigger on a reservation….

This - I learned to drive in an SSII

    Suggestions

Yeah, with taxes I pay $15/month for 2 cars. Well worth it to me, and when the renewal comes up it takes a 2 minute phone call to reset the price

    Suggestions

For sure - we got 90 free days with our Ioniq and then had to start paying - for me I just want to make sure the antenna and software is there

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

Unfortunately my life style doesn't include enough land to justify a tractor or chain saws, but I went electric with my mower, edger and blower years ago, and have never regretted it. In hindsight the mower transition was similar to the car, at first I dutifully took the battery out and put it...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

FWIW, here's an update on my transition from an ICE to a BEV driver. And 4 months in, I'm more excited about BEV driving than ever... Quick background - leasing an Ioniq5 as a way to learn about living with a BEV vehicle prior to taking delivery of our Scout. More details in earlier posts in...

I would be very surprised if XM is not included, even my 2010 Xterra had it from the factory. Once you get used to XM it's hard to give it up... Agreed on the NAV too, but I'm assuming we'll have to rely on Gaia or ONX via carplay for true (not cell based) navigation, would be great if it was...

What do you all do? Curious about Scout buyers occupations, or former occupations.

Software sales for the last 10 years; it hasn't been a direct path, and sadly its far from a passion - but the product(s) I sell are best-in-class (by a long length) and it pays the bills, so I plan to do it a couple more years (one kid still in college) and then find something I can be more...

    Scout Deal Breakers

Yeah you got me - I'll take the computer generated impression of 3 locking diffs... :)

    Scout Deal Breakers

OK, this is turning into a pretty useful thread. Added to my "no" list thanks to other posts: - lack of a 3D camera. We had one in our Rogue, and in our Infinity - didn't realize how much we relied on it until we got the Hyundai in the middle trim, without it. I miss it every time I drive, and...

    Scout Deal Breakers

For me, theres lot of things I want (3 locking diffs, 35's, heated steering wheel (seriously, game changer) etc..) and lots of things I don't want (HUD, massive vertical screens that look like they were glued on after the fact....) and things I might want (the fabric roof looks cool but I worry...

    Emotional connection without engine sound?

I confess to having had similar concerns. I've always loved cars, and at my age that means always loving engine noise too. my best/worst personal car was a Nissan Titan with a full cat-back system on that 5.6. Just sounded mean (in a good way), to be honest I kind of loved it, but it...

    Colorado Event

Thanks to everybody who posted - I can't believe I missed this, somehow it slipped by me. I won't make the same mistake for the Outside festival, will be there for sure!

    Stickers! And other decor...

I never put stickers on paint, I put them on the glass only, and only places that car has been AND I liked AND I remembered to buy a sticker. BUT, I'm not anti-sticker, I just put them on the beer fridge in the garage. Here's 20 years or so worth, sadly that fridge died and had to get...

How do you plan to kit out your interior?

For me it was a choice to control one thing. My office is primarily a "file by stacks of paper" nightmare, but compared to my "hoarder in training" garage it looks great. The car is where I chose to take some control.

How do you plan to kit out your interior?

So I started reading this thinking you guys are all nuts for having that much junk in your car, and then I started thinking about mine: Go bag in the back that holds Flashlight Extra batteries Packable rain shell (jacket and pants) Extra socks Gloves Hat Cheap leatherman knockoff Energy bars...

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

I may end up switching to BEV - my deposits are for Harvesters (will decide Terra or Traveler as the time gets closer) but that was before I had ever driven a BEV. Since that time I've leased an Ioniq5 (which I talk about elsewhere here) and have found for daily driving my range anxiety was...

    Rivian Tire Swap Function

You never know, and even established companies can overlook the little things. We had an Infinity QX30 for awhile (great car, btw) and I knew when we bought it that it was basically a rebranded Mercedes. Sure enough, on the little emergency key that popped out of the key fob, there was a...

    Driving Distance Poll

I picked the 250-350 bucket. Daily driving is pretty short, but on weekends we like to go skiing, 90-100 miles each way, often very cold so less efficient, but lots of downhill for regen purposes.... Haven't yet taken the Hyundai up there (no racks) but we go to the same mountains often in the...
