  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

Welcome to the forum! Thanks for that very thorough list. Lots of good stuff there.

Interesting quote from NY Times - VW + Rivian + Scout

I think mostly accurate, but the way it's worded makes it sound like they just bought a turn key operation and can immediately start cranking out vehicles. They bought a company (Navistar) that included a brand (Scout) but they still have to build the new company from the ground up, and execute...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

https://theevreport.com/scout-motors-interview-with-ryan-decker Podcast interview with Ryan Decker from Scout. No major bombshells, mostly the same info we've already heard, but worth a listen.

The boat tank on the passenger seat is the same one I used in my demolition derby cars many years ago. That setup you showed is next level! Love it!

Who else do we want to do a hands on review?

They also do good teardowns and talk about the nuts and bolts of the battery packs, motors, etc. They have some good ones on the Kia EV9.

    Scout Color Poll #1

Not to brag (well, maybe just a little) but I've got you beat. 12' X 12' door on my 30' X 60' garage. No worries about fitting the Scout in, even if I install a massive lift kit on it. In fact, I might have to reserve a few more Scouts to fill up the extra space in the garage.

Who else do we want to do a hands on review?

Derek from Vice Grip Garage would be great, but he's more of a drag a junkheap out of the weeds and get it running kind of guy. He does have a diesel scout that he got running and drove home on one episode of his show a few years ago.

    50 state vehicle

Oh, that's right. You're in Boston. Maybe we should split up the state so you take everything east of the Quabbin Reservoir and I'll take the hills of Western MA. Or, we could both do the full state tour and play the middle aged couple on vacation in MA. I'm a shoo-in for the realistic husband...

    Scout as an EV

I would but I reserved the Terra full electric right from the start.

Scout concepts on Jay Leno’s Garage

Maybe the extra weight of the gas engine on the rear frame/axle? Anyone else have an idea?

I'll offer myself up for the Massachusetts leg of the journey, or the whole thing if SM hires me for the position I recently applied for...

Poll- What have you Reserved... Let's get a small idea of the take rates.

Welcome to the forum! The under $60k price is for the base EV only model. The Harvester models will be higher than that but we don't know yet how much higher. Just wanted to clarify on that.

Some suggestions that I believe would make Scout the best Electric Offroad option

Welcome to the forum, and thanks for your well thought-out post and suggestions! As @J Alynn said, Scout is trying to walk a very fine line of making a capable off roader while still appealing to the masses for whom the bulk or all of their driving will be on road and would never need a solid...

South Carolina Scouts! Your voice is heard: Direct sales bill gets a hearing on Wednesday!

But, they came and helped my daughter when her car broke down... blah, blah, blah... 🤥

South Carolina Breaks Ground on Scout Motors Drive I-77 Interchange

I was wondering the same thing. All that real estate on that big roof is huge opportunity for energy cost savings for the facility when it goes online. Gotta think the energy usage in a plant that size won't be trivial.

South Carolina Scouts! Your voice is heard: Direct sales bill gets a hearing on Wednesday!

Another thing that should be highlighted to legislators in SC in future hearings is the potential economic boon to Blythewood, and the surrounding area. Think about the ripple effect of people coming from all over the country to pick up their Scouts, and while in the area they will likely stay...
