  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

That site has some very interesting finishes. Thanks for posting.

I run Herculiner on the bottom 12" of my Scout. The Monstaliner would be tempting if it were more smooth. There's a guy here in town who did his entire Scout in Herculiner and I don't like the look at all. Too rough. For years I've done the old "Off Roader Paint" trick - Rustoleum...

    Scout Color Poll #1

WOW! That's a lot of work to just get scraped off. My buddy who wraps all of his cars only own street vehicles, most of which are about a the thickness of a dime off the ground. I'm glad you shared this. I have toyed with trying a wrap, but trail shrubs are always a thing and I would end up...

But isn't the advantage of a wrap, that you can put it on yourself, install replacement panels as needed, and still get small rock and branch protection? I haven't ever done a wrap myself, but a buddy of mine does all of his vehicles and does them himself.

    GPS suggestions

It picks bad routes (not an avoid freeways type issue). When you do a search for say, Taco Bell, it doesn't indicate which ones are up ahead. It just shows arrows and a distance for each one. It resets and reroutes in weird places. It even does a loop in Pasadena which we just always ignore...

Yes, I think I felt the pucker watching the Rivian and it's not even my vehicle!! Great shot of you climbing out of Hell.

WOW! Pretty darn impressive! I couldn't do that in my old beast. The beauty of smooth electric power and tons of torque.

    GPS suggestions

Be careful with navigation system selected. My wife has a 2019 Subaru Forester and it has to have the very worst navigation system I've ever encountered. We often take our stand-alone Garmin or use our phone nav app when traveling in her car. I think the nav supplier is TomTom, but I'm not...

    Off-Road EV

Yeah, I get that. You don't want to break someone else's toy. It was cool to see how smooth it covered the desert.

You can adjust the playback speed to 1.5X and he's still understandable. The video is only 27 minutes at normal speed. Did he call it an "International Scout" that's coming in the future? It would be fun to see this vehicle tested on difficult trails. What he does in this video is very mild.

    Turn Signal

I searched and didn't see this one... I would like when you turn on the turn signals, the lights start closest to the center of the vehicle and then it moves out through the running lights. From the front it would look like pretty normal trace blinking indicator. Also from the side it would...
