  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Slate truck/SUV flat tow confirmed by Slate

Technically they didn’t confirm it. They are intending but as I recall-other EV manufacturers intended it initially then pulled back and said they couldn’t offer. But hey-hope it works out for you. I’d feel better seeing people flat tow a small Slate than the larger Scouts anyway. Win-win all...

    solid state battery option

Wow-just saw that article is almost a year old too. Yeah-not convincing me

    solid state battery option

Yes. Lots of manufacturers are saying this but nobody has done it to scale yet and realistically it could be 5 years minimum until anyone proves it’s possible at scale. And there’s been a LOOOONG discussion/debate already and the perceived consensus is unless SM suddenly decides to delay an...

    Longer Range battery option

Out of curiosity-how much more would you pay assuming (for now) that we could guess average Scout sale will likely be $68K and harvester say $3K more. Just curious

    Audio System Brand Poll 2.0

Yeah-that’s about the right color I had in mind

    Trail Side Fixes?

I think for events it is more than reasonable and yeah-good publicity but on a random given day it would need to be a pay service IMO. Could be cheaper than recovery companies. I’ve done bike fundraiser rides and the various local shops sponsor and set up free repair service so something like...

    Audio System Brand Poll 2.0

Well you took that COMPLETELY in a different direction than I was going. Tisk, tisk !

    Audio System Brand Poll 2.0

Mollie mode. Like the storage system mixed with Ringwald. Get it-did you get it? Tell me you get it.

Rear Cargo Barrier for pets and gear

I agree but I’d be a sucker for some Scout orange threaded cables. But I’ve said that before as well -so guess if offered I’d be dumb enough to pay.

    Audio System Brand Poll 2.0

Hhhmmmm-how about Low and Sloe mode? Barry-low and reddish-pink like Sloe gin fizz. That’s my story and I’m sticking with it but any other ideas for naming the mode should be posted for sure 😀

Rear Cargo Barrier for pets and gear

No pets (wish-but asthma and allergies in the house) but I think these are great but like many other items I think this would be best as aftermarket for same reason as many other suggestions we’ve all discussed on here. I’m sure SM will be (if not already) working with appropriate aftermarket...

    Trail Side Fixes?

It would be a guess but I’ll second @Chavannigans -they are a manufacturer first and foremost. And sadly I always look at the frivolous law suit angle-tech from SM comes out, slips while fixing something basic and damages something expensive-then what happens. To me it’s like specialty parts-let...

    Bench Seat vs Standard

I keep struggling. I’d really like a bench but I don’t always like people and heaven forbid I have to haul a lot of people and end up with someone smack next to me -Eeewwww! I’ll have to wait to see both final versions before I make my final call because bench seats are awesome and after 25+...

May 2025 Scout Motors Production Center Update

Get a good shot from the fly through and start a poll for doors 1-?? and see which group eventually wins by picking the correct door. We love time killing, useless hypothesizing posts on this forum. Then we can do another thread for what it will be labeled. I say it should be labeled the...

    Driver Legroom

Welcome to the forum. I would say having seen at reveal with a driver in it -it is taller than it looks. I think the perspective is throwing it a bit. I definitely think if seats slid back easily he’d have more leg space as well as there was a lot of space behind front seat and second row. If...

    Happy Friday

Well sadly that’s not the info I was hoping would land here. Was hoping for good looking EV pics from @Jamie@ScoutMotors not pics of an abomination made worse with a bright orange finish

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

There have been quite a few discussions on this topic if you have more interest. Not sure of thread but if you search key fobs you’ll find a bunch of good banter and commentary
