  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Dynamic Power Management

The one use case I can think of is living in a multi-EV home. If myself, the wife, and the kids have EVs the ability to charge them faster would be appealing for fast top offs since only one vehicle can be plugged in overnight per charger.

What feature(s) do you hope that Scout does NOT include?

    Right around the 22:00 mark

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I really hope they keep the Ghost Light elements in the final design. Really makes it pop.

Found a pretty cool video of the Terra render in different color combinations

That Yellow is beautiful though. Would be cool if they added something like that.

That sounds about right. That the 80% area was a sweet spot for efficiency and output. We were discussing VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives) and how they save energy.

What feature(s) do you hope that Scout does NOT include?

If it starts making bad sounds just put Rotella T6 in there and send it!

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I think the Traveler will have a nice sleeping platform. We can’t confirm yet but the prototype had the same material and pattern on the back of the rear seats that the cargo floor is made of so it appears like it should all fold flat.

    Frunk Fridge

No bed on the Traveler :(

    Frunk Fridge

You do have a point there. Maybe a small evaporator core could give you the option to heat or cool the frunk. It wouldn’t need to be very big for an area that small. The compressor is probably mounted behind there anyways so there wouldn’t be much added plumbing or weight. Now that I...

Dont electric motors also have a weird efficiency ratio? When I was in the commercial HVAC world an engineer told me that a if an electric motor was running at 100% load and another was running at 80% load, the one running at 80% uses 50% less energy or something like that.

Unfortunately it appears Mitsubishi is leaving the US altogether. They already shut down their last plant and recently stopped all shipments to dealers in the US. Sad to see but they really fell from grace years ago. My dad had the 2 door Montero and it was a little tote goat. Just climbed...

    Frunk Fridge

Makes total sense. I was a mechanic for a few years before I understood that you are REMOVING HEAT from the air, not cooling it. Its a foreign concept to a lot of people. I think a possible solution would be venting the frunk into the cab with a blend door so there is more heat transfer going...

It would be even cooler if you can watch your car being assembled as it passes through the assembly line 👀

    Size comparison

Not exactly the same but I think the Edison Motors conversions are pretty cool. I would love to see one in a Land Cruiser running around.
