  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Scout Traveler SUV Green Off-Road Concept

“What it does: In addition to leveling the R1T and R1S on uneven ground, Camp mode also lets you optimize the vehicles’ energy use while parked, set timers for the charging ports and outlets, turn off the interior displays, turn on a special Camp courtesy mode, and light up your campsite with...

    Harvester towing

Are the people wanting to tow 15,000lbs with the Harvester in the room with us right now?

    Cluster customization

That’s on a Power Management screen I think. It’s also on the Camping Mode screen too.

    Size comparison

May be a good excuse for a front mounted UHF antenna like the Aussies use. Just get one the same height as your roof and put a tennis ball on it 😂

    Engine in the Harvester - EA211 ?

    I just hope it isn’t a vibey 3 cylinder 🫨

    Cluster customization

That’s also a good one! Maybe like a telescope or something? I am starting to think it’s a Game Mode after a another look. I see what looks like an D Pad and a Thumb Stick. The round part on top is a different color. It almost looks like the icon photo isn’t on its “target” and the white...

    Deleted because I’m dumb.

    Engine in the Harvester - EA211 ?

We discussed this in the Extra Extra Read All About It thread. If I am not mistaken that factory makes turbo charged engines and the Harvester is supposed to be naturally aspirated. It will be interesting to see what they end up doing.

    Harvester towing

I think almost all "overlanders" are guilty of this. The usual build consists of steel sliders, steel front and belly skidplates, steel front bumpers with a winch and steel winch line, second batteries, steel fuel tank skid plate, steel rear bumper with a tire and gas tank hanging off. They...

    Harvester towing

Sounds like buying a stock base level Terra and adding all the extra accessories after the fact will give the higher door number sticker for the Max Towing Capacity and the offroad stuff too. (I’m kidding, please don’t do this)

The One-Ton Problem with Scout’s Harvester Range Extender

Great questions! Many of us have asked but haven’t gotten official answers yet. The Harvester does not directly drive the tires. Its job is to keep the battery charged, and the battery itself powers the drivetrain. So it may not “switch” over the way you think it does. We can only assume...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Just read the press release on their website. Very cool stuff. May give us a general idea of what we can expect from the Harvester. I’m sorry but your post kind of got lost in the noise with that Federal EV Registration Fee proposal. Developed in China for the World In November 2023, ZF...

    Harvester towing

I just checked the Payload Capacity on the Lightnings. It looks like 2,235lbs on the Pro with standard battery and 1,800 on the higher trims with the extended battery. Max Towing is 5,000lbs on the standard battery and 7,700lbs on the extended range Max towing with Max Trailer Tow package is...

    Harvester towing

Was searching for images of the Terra towing and came across this. It’s the only photo I could find of one pulling anything. Lightship is using a render of the Terra on this web page. I’m not sure if this means anything at all or how permissions for using vehicles like this in promotional...

    Harvester towing

Again, it’s right there on the top of the Terra page. That directly conflicts with this narrative of not being a towing focused vehicle. I normally agree with your opinion but Im not sure why you insist on doubling down on this issue when the data isn’t there to support it. Nobody is trying...

Scout Traveler SUV Green Off-Road Concept

1999 Land Cruiser 2011 Lexus GX460 2004 Lexus GX470 (Current) Each one had air bags I could raise or lower. Each Lexus had electronically adjustable shocks as well. The rear lift on the GX’s cost around $1.25 in washers from Ace Hardware. No need to replace the rear shocks (but I...

Scout Traveler SUV Green Off-Road Concept

I want the offroad package with air. My past three vehicles had it and the benefits far outweigh the cons. Never had a failure offroad even under complete articulation with tires stuffed in the wheel wells. My current set are actually “tricked up” 2” in the rear by adding some washers under...

[Terra] Heat ducts in the bed

I have posted about the Moonlander camper shells in here previously if you would like to search for it, but there are bed caps out there the allow you to sleep in a East/West style bed so the truck bed length is less of a factor. The Moonlander lets you choose up to 7 feet in width. Very...

    Harvester towing

I mean they kind of have “READY FOR TOWING” in huge orange letters on the website. It’s one of the first things you see on the Terra page… I don’t understand why people are coping by saying things like “Scout isn’t marketing it as a tow vehicle” when they clearly are. We obviously need to...
