  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Mini-vans hands down win for practicality. We currently have a 2020 Honda Odyssey that my wife traded her 2011 GX460 in for. She loves it and its got about 100k miles on it now. It makes total sense for running around town with a lot of people and stuffing with groceries. It is surpisingly not...

    Charging while driving…Wild, irresponsible speculation...

I would honestly start considering the Duramax AT4 Denali again if Scout wanted anything over $5k for a small 4 banger in the trunk. The BEV may be able to sway me depending on the price and how much space I would need to give up for a solar charging setup.

Call me what you will, but my wife and I cant afford childcare or to live in the area we work in so we drive 100 miles a day, each. If we want to go to Padre island for a beach trip thats almost 500 miles. Id prefer it not to be this way, but until my boys are grown its the way it is. Texas...

Oh boy.... That doesnt sound like a good time.

    Charging while driving…Wild, irresponsible speculation...

Damn you and your perfectly reasonable line of thinking! 😂 I am not sure how R&D is being managed, and I am sure they can lean into Dad (VW) for advice on some implementations. We can also consider how much R&D they are saving by using Rivian's intellectual property and systems through VW's...

Your comment makes sense, but I suspect that it has a lot to do with where you live and your lifetstyle. My state is massive. Driving anywhere notable usually takes a full day. Having more space on short trips around town doesnt make much sense, but if you are racking up miles each day, and on...

    Accessories Poll For Scouts

There are some hitch mounted tire carriers that swingout, and have a 2" receiver slot so you could still add a bike rack or other accessories and still have your spare with you.

    Charging while driving…Wild, irresponsible speculation...

I will start this by saying, I have a lot of respect for you and really appreciate all the time you spend here sharing your knowledge.... but for once I am hoping youre wrong about something. You clearly know what youre talking about with the maths and calculations but HOLY SMOKES $10k for the...

100% agree. I would own two Scouts if they do that.

How would you build your Scout?

That should work out for you as well. Most manufacturers let you choose your step/rocker protection separately. There will eventually be an aftermarket if you dont like what you see initially direct from Scout.

How would you build your Scout?

Just speculating here but I think you are going to get what you want. Winches are typically a separate item in addition to off road packages (You should see how much they charge for the winch on the F-250 🤑 ) Roof racks are also typically a separate item. Offroad packages are typically skid...

How would you build your Scout?

When you are talking about a mild offroad package, would that look like the current Traveler concept with the 35"s and tire carrier, or something milder than that?

How would you build your Scout?

Tax credits will come down to the 2026 Mid Terms. Hopefully people will get off their butts and vote! (Close to 90 million eligible voters didnt show up at polls in 2024)

Scout Traveler SUV Green Off-Road Concept

We have a lot of deer here. A young spike ran in front of me a few months back around a blind curve. He saw me, panicked tripped and fell as he passed by. I saw him and slammed on my brakes but didn’t want to swerve off the road Definitely wouldn’t want a brush guard though. A small hit like...

How would you build your Scout?

Welcome. Love your measure of quality with the sand storm. Ha If they start around $60k… I am skeptical about them reaching $100k with options and accessories. $80k would seem more realistic to me for an optioned out one, but who knows what the market will look like in 2 years.

    Power outlets

One of the videos from the October launch claimed the blank plate on the left side of the frunk was for power outlets. Hopefully it makes it to production!

Scout Traveler SUV Green Off-Road Concept

Not a bad idea. Also, I don’t know who needs to hear this but many states offer roadside assistance for free 1-2 times a year. There is a number on the back my Texas drivers license. If I call, a DPS officer will come pop my door lock if I leave my keys and phone inside. They will also...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Im not even sure if its possible, but showing the price difference between filling up with gas on a trip vs charging on the road would be a really neat feature for the Harvester models.
