  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Scout Warns VW Dealers Fighting Direct Sales That It’s Not Playing Around

I assume the "blame California" originated from this? The California New Car Dealership Association is the body most in the news on this front. https://www.cncda.org/news/cncda-demands-vw-cease-unlawful-competition-through-scout-brand/ The next to last paragraph from there suggests state...

    Blythewood, SC EV Charging Stations?

Skimming the latest NEVI plan by SC state government, only the interstate corridors are currently being targeted for development of charging infrastructure by government, at a maximum 50 mile spacing along each interstate corridor, with placement prioritization being rural areas. So I-77 near...

The Ramcharger was reprioritized and accelerated to be ahead of the REV not that long ago. And now they've cancelled at least one variant of the REV. If anything, given the current trajectory, it seems that the REV is more in danger of never coming to market than the Ramcharger.

Interesting to see this pivot by Stellantis, cancelling the long-range variant of the RAM REV. The era of gargantuan battery packs to win the range crown didn't last very long. https://moparinsiders.com/ram-1500-rev-update-long-range-model-canceled-as-ramcharger-takes-the-spotlight/

Consumer Freedom and Scout Motors in South Carolina

At minimum, posting a form letter template here on the forum could go a long way towards uptake on residents sending such letters to their reps. Even better would be something that would eat zip code and other user-provided information to pre-populate a filled-out template, as well as look up...

I can't recall ever seeing answered the question: will the Harvester variants have the same water fording clearance as the EV-only variants? i.e. given the engine's likely location right around the height of the axle, wouldn't it have to be sealed and snorkeled somehow?

    Scout Motors at CES 2025

Kyle's video just dropped on the YouTubes. I just got to the point in the video containing an unexpected surprise: Kyle speaking with Jamie!

First official mention of the number of reservations I've read. "More than 50,000" is not bad at all, particularly for a new brand. https://www.cnbc.com/2025/01/08/scout-motors-electric-vehicles-ev-reservations.html

Scout shows off the UX at CES!

Very cool to see confirmation that the software customization by Scout is far deeper than mere "skinning" of the Rivian software stack. Also cool to see how the physical button integration with the screen behaves. The attention to detail, such as aligning the screen pop-up with the location of...

Hopefully Scout will learn from the mistakes of Cariad

Yes indeed. That's a good start, but vigilance must be front and center nonetheless. The special relationship with VWAG should enable some additional insight into this misstep by Cariad that Scout can leverage to learn what allowed that to occur.

Hopefully Scout will learn from the mistakes of Cariad

This is a painfully bad lapse in security. Hopefully Scout will build sufficient checks in their processes to guard against such a thing happening. A security first mindset is paramount given the wealth of sensitive data in play...

    The Terra does college football

Sadly I still have not laid eyes on it myself, in the physical. Those pics were shared with me by my brother and nephew. They focused on the Terra, since I had been excitedly telling them about it since I reserved one. They both thought it looked awesome, and are looking forward to checking mine...

    The Terra does college football

Hopefully there will be many additional tour stops across the county! Nice to visit The University of South Carolina, just a short drive south of the production site. Behind the rope, and then on the jumbotron.

    October 2024 Production Center Update

Very cool update! Hopefully no additional hurricanes will visit the site any time soon, though it doesn't look like there were any major setbacks from Helene.

    Lessons Learned on Range Anxiety

Generally speaking, yes. Rates at Superchargers are higher for non-Teslas. One can create a Supercharger subscription account, which gives lower rates, bit you'd need to do some math to determine whether the cost of the subscription saves you anything in the end. Basically, the ROI tends to only...
