  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Nope. No contact of any kind, and I am not a member of that forum.

    Blythewood Community Event

If there's an event similar to this near you, I highly recommend going if you can. I also forgot to mention another tidbit I learned speaking with a nice lady from Scout's crisis management and security (i.e. protector of the prototypes): the slide out trays in the front are not laptop trays...

    Blythewood Community Event

Oh, and one more juicy tidbit I forgot to include. When someone asked "what color did you pre-order" and an attendee responded that nothing like that is up yet, a Scout employee said something along the lines of: if you pre-ordered be on the lookout for a communication soon on that front that...

Traveller (cont.) Handheld smartphone recording of presentation Random tidbits from speaking with folks Low voltage architecture will be 12V, not 48V Not certain where 12V battery will be located, but though the frunks are power-up, the frunk latches will be fully mechanical, so frunk should...

    Blythewood Community Event

Scout held a nice community event in Blythewood three days this week. I attended the Saturday event, today. There was a 20-ish minute presentation, followed by casual question and answer mingling afterwards. Both the Terra and Traveler prototypes were on display. What follows is an attempt to...

That being said, probably don't read too much in NMC's "better performance in cold climates" as automatically meaning that Harvester variants, likely using LFP, will have poor cold climate performance. Harvesters having an onboard ICE engine could be a bit of a secret weapon; ICE engines are an...

Not to be too pedantic, but the Harvester (and other EREVs) are in fact also referred to as hybrids. They're just "series hybrids" rather than "parallel hybrids." This article is helpful with terminology and diagrams to see and understand the differences involved...

South Carolina Scouts! Your voice is heard: Direct sales bill gets a hearing on Wednesday!

Exactly the points I raised when writing my reps exhorting them to support passage of the legislation. Fingers crossed that McMaster's pressure will yield dividends.

Extended Range Electric Vehicle. I.e. for Scout, the Harvester variant, which has a gas engine onboard that acts purely as a generator to charge the battery pack.

Agree on the engine likely being from the EA211 family, particularly since there are (in some markets) and have been in the recent past in the US market naturally aspirated variants, producing 90-ish HP, which would work well for the battery pack size mentioned.

My interpretation of what Scott was indicating by his comments on this point was that the architecture and platform allowed things like upgrading the battery, etc. on a model-year-update basis, not that a battery could be upgraded (or anything else related could be upgraded) by a customer...
