  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Rethink Steering Wheel Design?

Let me just start by saying design is subjective. I hope the steering wheel design is not final. I think a round wheel or a round wheel with flat bottom would be preferred by most folks. From a design pov, don't like the two spoke design either. I know its a throwback look but in combination...

What do you love or hate about other off-road vehicles

own a quad motor R1T with 20" AT tires. here's what like and dislike LIKE swiss army knife vehicle can handle most offroad trails, overlanding, and great on road ride to get there and back amazing ground clearance, love the air suspension to vary height quad motors and instant torque are...

    Heat Pump?

id be shocked if they didnt incorporate this. there is plenty of time to design/engineer if they haven't already.

    Living with EV

a large majority of people who own EVs charge at home so dont have to deal with 3rd party chargers. there's always trade-offs for any vehicle over another and its no different with an EV. imo EVs are easier to live with day to day than a gas powered vehicle - no stops to gas station, no oil...

    SCOUT TRAVELER FAQ

Pretty sure its been stated the Harvester wont power the electric motors. Can't recall where I heard that though.

    Suspension Speculation

air suspension or adaptive air suspension

1,000+ reservations take rate stats: Harvester vs. Full-EV and Traveler vs. Terra

no surprise on SUV > Truck am surprised about Harvester but that tells you where charging infrastructure and battery tech is or at least the perceived negative notions about them. for 80-90% of folks for 95% of the time, charging and range is not going to be an issue even with an all electric...

    Suspension Speculation

i'd be surprised if its a suspension like Rivian at this price point. possibly more similar to the cybertruck adaptive air suspension to raise/lower/level the vehicle as opposed to the hydraulic roll control that Rivian also has - thats pretty advanced and pricey. i'd expect air springs with...

Grab handle on drivers side A-pillar

Here's a suggestion to put a grab handle on the drivers side A-pillar, in addition to the other 3 we see in the vehicle. A vehicle with this much ground clearance needs that to make it easier to enter and exit, especially if there is no running boards.

    Basic or All Decked Out?

Depends on final price of the decked out model and/or the features on the bare bones one. TBD.

Future Model: Scout Sport- Smaller, and more efficient, but still capable.

True. I guess I'm also basing it on the fact that they seem very cognizant of the past history of Scout and thus would eventually offer a two-door but yeah, who knows.

Future Model: Scout Sport- Smaller, and more efficient, but still capable.

They teased a smaller SUV as well as a two door version of the Traveler at the reveal (maybe even a two door Terra but hard to tell from the pic). https://scoutmotors.community.forum/threads/missing-the-mark.1122/post-12419

    tonneau cover standard?

I’ve seen tests on EV trucks with and without the tonneau and the impact on efficiency is minimal. Of course every vehicles airflow is unique but doubt it would make much difference on the Terra. And I would recommend non motorized. One less thing to break down. Just ask Rivian R1T owners.

Scout Dimensions Updated On Our Website

While options are great for customers Scout also needs to keep costs down as a “new” company. This means keeping parts and manufacturing simpler imo. At the same time, let’s be honest a majority of people who buy these won’t take them off roading which makes carrying a spare unneeded for 905%...

    Seattle Scouts

I’ve never owned a scout but was drawn in by the reveal. Currently own an R1T, which I love, but would be interested in the entry level Traveler depending on the specs and if the price stays at $60k.

    Missing the mark

I understand your sentiment, but what non-electric vehicle with similar capabilities costs that much less than the target price Scout is setting for the Terra and Traveler? Have you seen the price of the F-150 Raptor, TRX, Wrangler, Gladiator, Bronco/Raptor? Those are not cheap and with dealer...
