  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Bi-directional Charging / Home Power Backup

Its typically not the vehicle thats the limiting factor, its the extra equipment that needs to be installed at home. Ford has their version the Charge Station Pro. No other manufacturer has come up with one that they are selling (afaik). I know Enphase is one company trying to produce their 3rd...

    240V Outlet on Traveller

It should also be at least 30amps, 40mps would be even better.

    Audio Components

I’d like to see higher end than Alpine, at least optionally. I’m thinking Levinson, B&O or Meridian.

    AC Vent Locations

I can see the reason for your specific need but I doubt this will happen. The use cases are too small for them to spend the extra time and cost to add this. And it makes it more expensive for a majority who don’t have a need for it.

    Sound suppression

For any BEV, NVH is important because the lack of an engine to drown out other noises. At this price point I’d say acoustic glass is a must. With the Harvester and air compressor on board it’s going to be even more important to isolate those sounds and vibrations. And yes knobby wheels will...

    Optional 2nd Row Captain Chairs

I think this would be a nice option. You can have both captain chairs and 5 seats. You just need to make the middle seat removable. Lots of other SUVs have offered this before.

More Info on Scout Terra and Traveler (Scout Blog)

Traveler: https://blog.scoutmotors.com/a-closer-look-the-scout-traveler-suv/ Terra: https://blog.scoutmotors.com/a-closer-look-the-scout-terra-truck/ One interesting difference in content is they mention V2L in the Terra but not the Traveler. Hopefully they will both come with that option.

Harvester - Request to allow it to charge battery while parked & a 30-40amp/240v outlet

I was watching this video today and the Director of UX was demoing the Modes feature of the UI. They were in Outdoor mode and he showed an option to turn on the Harvestor while in that mode. To me that indicates you will be able to charge the battery while the vehicle is parked. I hope that...

    Rear Window

The rear window doesnt need to roll down all the way, even if it rolled down halfway, that would be a great option.

    DROPDOWN REAR WINDOW

It would be awesome if the Traveler had a roll down rear window but with it being a split gate, probably not doable. Maybe a pop up window like the Toyota Highlander could work? Especially when you have that large tire carrier in the back, it'd be convenient to be able to access the rear...

Range extender - please adjust spec to 250 miles of EV Range

Lets remember that battery chemistry matters. If were talking LFP, then we can charge to 100% daily and get the full battery range daily. If were talking NMC, then ideally we dont want to charge more than 70-80% daily to reduce battery degredation, thats reduced range ~105-120 miles, in winter...

Out of Spec Reviews Scout at CES 2025 (Jamie Sighting)

If youre a fan of Out of Spec, they posted a video of a brief review of the Terra and Traveler. Not a lot of new info but their interviews with Jamie and Nicole were cool. Lots of exciting elements related to the infotainment and UI as well as the Scout community.

    Headlights Have Been Re-Designed (slightly)

Update: My bad, from other angles of pics from the reveal, it looks like the glass was always there. I'd like to think I had something to do with this ;) Anyways, in a previous post I mentioned how I was concerned about the way the headlights were designed at that time and the potential...

Traveler Ride Quality and NVH Expectations

One of the complaints/feedback Rivian has received about its vehicles is the ride quality and noise. Particularly in the R1S. Rivian has adjusted ride quality several times via OTA updates. In Gen2 version of the vehicles, they made changes to the dampers, spring rates and bushings as well as...

Scout shows off the UX at CES!

Great video. Learned a few new things. Love the way the UI looks and the thought behind the design. The context specific UI changes/modes seems awesome. Detox mode is interesting. Possibly something I never thought I needed. Can't wait to see more.
