  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

When I looked this wasn’t being manufactured in the region…however I agree that would fit the bill!

The reveal of the Scout Traveler SUV and Scout Terra truck concepts ushers in a new Scout era - Official Press Release and Photos

150 EV only will get most people to and from daily commutes which is 90-95% of driving. This is a sweet spot of range and value, especially if using LFP batteries. The harvester will be used for that 5-10% case scenario: hauling, backcountry exploring/camping, and long distance trips where EV...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Love this. Any speculation on which 4 cylinder? All currently manufactured vw engines are turbos with direct injection (some have duel port though). I do worry about carbon buildup on direct injection engines if used as an erev. Thoughts or insights?

Swore I’d never buy an EV, then Scout happened

Rivian is Patagonia and Scout is Levi’s…which I love and appreciate how the CEO helps makes the connection for the consumer.

    Cool Solution—Erev cooling

In this idea I imagine the heat pump for cabin heating/cooling would be integrated into this coolant system similar to Tesla. I think it was revealed as a 4 cylinder engine—speculating around 80-100kw power based on current engines such as the EA211 with turbo and perhaps direct injection...

    Cool Solution—Erev cooling

Yes, it is possible for an Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) to have a single radiator with a heat exchanger between two cooling loops. This design is feasible and can be quite effective in managing the temperature of both the internal combustion engine (ICE) and the electric vehicle (EV)...

    Cool Solution—Erev cooling

I was intrigued by the Motortrend interview with Scott Keogh. He highlighted a “cool solution” which was “smart and well thought out” for cooling the erev engine. Using some AI to educate myself I think it would be cool and smart to have a duel loop liquid hearing management system with a single...

    Any chance on flat four?

Nice to know about Edison. The engines they are producing would fit nicely into heavy equipment erevs. The s13 specifically which currently has an integrated transmission. Its smaller then most v6s quiet and lighter…a erev dream. Also is more efficient with consistent HP at low rpms. With it...

    Any chance on flat four?

Answering my own question…all diesel engines, 6 cylinders—so unless something new (yet to be announced) engine was in the works then unlikely. I was impressed with the technology of these engines though so perhaps an “upgrade” in the future. Also got me thinking about erevs for the large...

    Any chance on flat four?

Interesting that Navistar is now International Motors and according to Wikipedia is the successor to the international harvester manufacturing company…. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Motors

Scouting the Road Ahead With Scout Motors President and CEO Scott Keogh

I interpreted this as future upgrades that Scout can do in future manufacturing years. Not changing sheet metal or the structure for the next productive year but changing the guts (engine, fuel and battery size/type) that really matters. Either way very smart to keep things modular for future...

    Any chance on flat four?

I am interested in the “creative cooling” commenting made in his interview. It makes me wonder if the battery cooling and engine cooling will use the same system..likely liquid cooled. That would be the most logical given efficiency, location of the engine. Etc. it could then use the excess heat...

    Magnetic attachment points around windows

Haven’t seen this yet but hopeful that perhaps not too late in the design phase. Having metal around b the windows (at least three sides) and all four on there terra rear roll down would be a game changer for aftermarket accessories. Traveler: ability to have aftermarket black out shades that...

    Harvester Talk: Q&A

I think if this is true it points towards my prediction of LFP..which makes sense for so many different reasons (charge recharge cycles, 100% charging, cost, etc.)

    Outdoor mode w/ harvester

I haven’t seen this discussed here but check out approx 21:00 timestamp of this where while in outdoor mode the UI calculates your remaining time at camp. It showed ability to turn on harvester as a menu option. For me this all but confirms utility mode of charging the battery at idle and...

    Range and Competitiveness

I think you are 100% correct. They are trying to maximize EV only range at the expense of battery degradation. Scout will have to make similar decisions, but I hope the larger battery will see less degradation

    Range and Competitiveness

I agree with you. I think the 4xE is a fault of poor engineering with too small a battery. And I am happy that I will likely get a new battery for my 4xe under warranty in the next year. For Scout’s sake I do hope they engineer it better than Stellantis.
