  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Self-driving integration with Open Pilot.

The problem with Adaptive Cruise (which I love on two lane highways) is on the interstate somebody passes you, pulls in front of you and slows down, if you’re not paying attention all of a sudden you’re going 60mph in a 70mph zone and you’re wondering why the hell you slowed down? Maybe the...

New Scout Motors Video - Driven By Community - Jackson Family Story

    LOL! That’s freaking hilarious!

Snow traction with lighter front end?

I know I’ve put weight over the rear axel in my truck for winter traction. You could probably put a couple sand bags in the fronk if needed.

Just for fun…Have you named your Scout already?

I currently refer to the TRX as Fat Bastard. I’m not sure my wife has ever named her Colorado ZR2? I figure the name for the Scout will come to me/us after delivery. I currently have a Traveler reserved, but I’m tempted to change to a Terra. That’s the harder question to answer!

New Scout Motors Video - Driven By Community - Jackson Family Story

More of a Wrangler’s guy myself. It’s hard to find a 34X38 relaxed fit that’s comfortable. Wait- I feel like it may have gotten a little too personal… Anyway, great video @Jamie@ScoutMotors !

    Self-driving integration with Open Pilot.

“I never use cruise control” I’m not sure we can all be friends again! :ROFLMAO: But seriously, nothing drives me crazier than having the cruise set just to have somebody on the interstate pass me, pull in front of me, then slow down. For the love of God and all things Holy, set the freaking...

    Self-driving integration with Open Pilot.

I know that Chevy, Ford, and Ram (among a lot of other brands) have their own Hands Free Driving. I’ve seen some videos on it, and it’s interesting. The wife and I recently spent a week on San Juan Island, and getting there is a 550 mile drive and then an hour-ish ferry ride. Somewhere between...

How do you plan to kit out your interior?

My first thought was man, a lot of you have a lot of stuff in your vehicles. Then after doing some self reflection I realized WE have a lot of crap in our vehicles!

    Self-driving integration with Open Pilot.

All I’m asking for is adaptive cruise control. The whole hands off self driving kind of spooks me.

Is There Any Comparison Data to Other Brands on GVW, Body Dimensions, Off-Road Angles

This was at Barrett Jackson this year. I think it’s bigger than my first house. It was huge!

Is There Any Comparison Data to Other Brands on GVW, Body Dimensions, Off-Road Angles

I’m excited at the idea of a truck that’s under 80” wide. At 86” my TRX is kind of a fat bastard!

Moab / Canyonlands NP / Arches NP trip in a Terra-like Electric Pickup (F-150 Lightning)

Moab is definitely on my list. Thanks for sharing your journey!

    Whinin’ and cryin’

I remember the 16 week wait for my TRX order seemed like a practice in patience. That said, I’m kind of ok with waiting on Scout. It gives me more time to research the vehicle, and decide if the Traveler with the Harvester setup will be a good option for me? I want to see Scout get these...

    Audible pedestrian warning noise

You can always do what Dodge did… (Please Scout, DON’T)
  15. 04Ram2500Hemi

Offer it with a gas motor

I would too prefer an all gas option, maybe something like the EcoPoop in the Bronco Raptor where you get plenty of power and decent fuel economy. But that’s not the direction Scout went. I would have never placed a reservation if it wasn’t for the Harvester package. I’m simply not ready to go...

    Scout Security System?

If you look at other car forums you’ll see Ravelco being defeated in a matter of minutes. IGLA seems like a good option, but I’m not sure I want to enter a PIN code every time I start the vehicle.

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

I have never owned an EV, so I have a ton of questions, and a lot of thoughts about the EV world (some are probably wrong). A lot of members like @J Alynn have been really helpful without judging my lack of knowledge. If Scout would have been another Rivian I would have appreciated the design...

    Rearview Camera Monitor

Ram does this as well in their trucks with some packages. I didn’t order this with the TRX back in 2021 and probably should have (it came standard in 2022 with the Level II package).

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

We talk a lot about the cost of gas. What I don’t know or have any experience with is the cost per charge. I know that Scout hasn’t released all the info, but let’s say a similar Rivian. - How long does it take to charge from 20% - 80% when on a highway trip, and what’s the cost? - How long does...

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

Some of us like our TRX… Ok, not a helpful response. But I’m one of those who uses my TRX (not a lot of sand dunes in Montana, so it’s not jumped a lot). My truck tows our family pontoon boat, it goes to the woods for hunting season, and it’s our long distance traveler. Other than fuel...
