    Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

    How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

    Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy.     Single Touch Window Controls

    That's a lot cheaper way to drop cabin temp by 40-degrees in the summer instead of relying on the battery to run the A/C for you! I've loved this feature on past cars, but also being able to put all windows up via remote in case a storm rolls in.

    That makes customization really hard if you're adding comms, lighting, upgraded stereo, etc without making your own 12v system. If we're just talking about for winching, a higher voltage would make a LOT of sense since the high-amp draw doesn't play well with any 12v systems.

    If 35" tires give me 12" of ground clearance with decent travel up front, (minus the pumpkin), I don't see a need to lift it. With the independent front, I want to keep the arms at their ideal geometry and not limit my down-travel by lifting it. So long as it has factory frame mounting points...

    Absolutely I'll buy in a VW or any other VAG dealership as I don't have the option for direct sales. My local VW dealer was good with my two TDIs, even during the Dieselgate buyback. BMW did well using their existing dealerships when they launched MINI, and just partitioned off a small corner...

    There isn't room for a vertical engine between the trunk floor height and the underside of the vehicle. Turning an inline-3 or 4 sideways only works if you have the crankcase/oil pan underneath which is likely too much engineering effort when they've already got flat-4 and flat-6 engines...

    What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

    I hope Scout gives us the option to access electrical diagrams and factory service manuals so that we can work on our own vehicles if desired. Being able to order parts without having to go through Service would also be helpful. They hinted at being very serviceable, and I hope that stays true.

    Having had a yellow car, a school bus-colored vehicle and an eerily similar copper color (Hot Lava on a Scion FR-S) to the display Traveler, I fully vouch for their ability to hide dirt, dust and grime.

    To the contrary, I think Scout is the direction VW will be going in the future. Smaller brands, more in control of their product instead of everything being run by mega-corporate out of Germany.
