  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Scout II Restoration update!

Love it, these were the coolest, as a 6'5 person not getting any younger, jamming myself into a CJ7/YJ sized package was never appealing, and CJ5 and down has always been flatly out of the question. Always wanted an old Scout as a mid point between a giant K5 or Bronco and a too small Jeep...

Terra Full Size Spare (35") Mount

My Gladiator can fit a 37 under the bed with some minor tweaking. Why do we believe the Terra won't fit the stock size?

What Was The Biggest Automotive Story Of 2024?

Biggest story to me is the market correction underway from interest rates absolutely buggering the run away pricing on vehicles.

    Questions about the Harvester

So, this weekend, I picked up a free GMC Sierra that had been available for months. It was 12 miles from my home. Has a 5.3 LS I'll swap into my 4runner, a 4L60 I'm giving to my nephew to put in his Silverado, and we'll load the rest up, haul it to the scrap yard, another 24 miles each way...

    Keep it Simple - Please

I agree, I've ordered a Terra, I need a truck, use it frequently, do not need bluetooth bidets and occular implant sync with my home Alexa. I just need to drag junk reliably.

    Any Detroit Auto show presence?

I was hoping for a Detroit auto show appearance, I'm excited to see one in person, I will be happy to hold off for actual PV builds though.

Payload and towing with harvester range extender on a Traveler

Same, the integrated brake on my Ram is sweet, use it all the time.

Manual Control of 4x4 system instead of silly GOAT like modes

My Gladiator doesn't have modes, and still will pull power unless it's in low range and you do the button truffle shuffle first. Super fun to get stuck halfway up a climb because the ESC system was like, nah, no... no, not that, you don't want that, let's close this throttle down.

Ability to Disable Smart Driving Capabilities

Same, I don't want anything lol. Just a truck, rugged, simple, capable, please and thank you.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Because I need a truck? Whacky requirement for buying one I suppose lol.
  11. Jrgunn5150

What are you driving until release?

I have, 7 trucks lol. I have been daily driving my 2016 Ram Ecodiesel, with 445,00 miles, it's starting to show it's age. So this spring, I'll switch to my 97 Ford, Cummins, ZF5 speed, Super Duty chassis, yada yada, and my 08 Outback.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I want less features, not more lol. I'm concerned about the concepts interiors, too nice for me. I want vinyl floors, vinyl windows. I want the cheapest, most straightforward pickup that can haul 2k, tow 10k, that I can fill with greasy rusty car parts and tow my other trucks around with.

    Questions about the Harvester

To go back to the original point, I believe a lot of people are misunderstanding like the OP how Harvester works. Most people I speak with, seem to think it's like the Ramcharger and just a series parallel deal with infinite range, and not an extender. The Ramcharger will go forever if you...
