  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Did Your City Receive 2025 Grant Funds To Build Charging and Refueling Infrastructure?

Renters are a real pickle, because renters in metro areas, owning and using vehicles, would be key EV demographics. Yet, somehow, EV charging doesn't seem to be an urban rental amenity, and you'd think when they're offering parking for 100 a month or whatever, at least 10% of those spaces would...

Did Your City Receive 2025 Grant Funds To Build Charging and Refueling Infrastructure?

I agree with the stop and eat while charging. However, the only time we've had to recharge away from home is when we've gone on road trips, which is why Buccees for example is appealing, we plug in, go inside for 30-40 minutes and roam and gawk and shop and potty and eat, and we're good to go...

Consumer Freedom and Scout Motors in South Carolina

First off, I've messaged my representatives here in Michigan, but it's Michigan, so... The Auto Dealers have a firm grip here lol. But I agree, direct to consumer, with repair support centers is a great vision, hope you get the waivers needed, and break the monopoly. I love the openess of a...

Did Your City Receive 2025 Grant Funds To Build Charging and Refueling Infrastructure?

People who passed that bill, beyond the profit to their donors motive, fail to realize most charging is done at home. If they're going to build out a network, it should be at all the Buccees and Sheetz on the interstates, not next to the 17 dollar fair trade coffee haus downtown.

Global EREV battery capacity deployment is growing six times faster than that of BEVs

Hybrid Super Duty knocking down high 20 mpg is gonna be wild, especially when they make the inverter available for job sites.

    Cloth seats

If my only choices were cloth and leather, I'd choose leather. Heaven forbid it be white like the concepts, but I can at least wipe/clean it without specialty equipment.

2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger Production Run Will Be Short

I think they've just realized, as much as commenters insist, they need 7 million miles of range, actual consumers aren't willing to pay for it. 350 in the standard REV is plenty, if you want more, buy a Ramcharger.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I'd like vinyl seats, or something not cloth or leather. That can wipe off mud or grease.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Most companies won't let you, as a random guy, purchase a fleet unit. And that sucks. Would be cool if Scout had some super basic fleet unit, and let people buy them individually also.

Dash Rail with USB C ports

Pretty useful to have. Of course in 2030 we might be using USC T or something lol.

100%, details will be much more firm this time next year, everything should be locked. Alot of the testing is done at the supplier/component level. It's not like there's a government agency of cars and you have to approach them with car and get car approved for sale. It's more like there's...

Terra Full Size Spare (35") Mount

For me, a swing out is a hard no. I don't want to screw with that thing every time I get in the bed.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

Photos flatten terrain, this is a 3-4 foot drop from a road into a yard, and I'm hooked to a steel deck 18" car hauler with a a 2002 GMC Sierra 4x4 on it. I needed wheel speed to get a run at this hill, to yeet the whole load up onto the cleared, paved road. I would like, to be able to back...

Terra Full Size Spare (35") Mount

I see, that makes more sense, I figured there was something I was missing lol.

    3 Years

I'd count on that at the earliest. Cynical me, 15 years in automotive, says production beginning even Q4 of 27 is optimistic in reality. I wish and hope for the best, but I wouldn't bet any money on it.

    Questions about the Harvester

I interpret that differently. I read that as , while the gennie is charging the batteries, their performance remains the same. And with the chemistries we currently use, battery performance does not degrade whether you're at the top or bottom of the pack. I don't ready anywhere in that...

Terra Full Size Spare (35") Mount

Odd, one would think they would design around a full size spare. I did assume throwing the Harvester in at the last moment was an afterthought and a ditch to sway those with range anxiety though.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I'm a Terra buyer, from what I've seen of the bed, looks like it may be a molded product, at least in the concepts. I really need a rugged floor, and the ability to tie things down in the bed, the newer trucks bed rail systems are pretty nice, I like them and hope Scout does something similar.

I'm an engineer, worked in automotive all my life, tier 1's, Rivian for a bit, a stint consulting at Lordstown... In order to kick off tools, hard steel, and make production in Q1 2027, they're, at the absolute max, 12 months from design freeze on everything. And sooner on more difficult...

    Frunk features

At the very least, tabs/indents where I can place a board to limit things, front and rear, are great.
