  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Any chance on flat four?

I'm guessing, as always, it's one of the off the shelf 3 cylinders they already make. There's no need to reinvent the wheel, nor provide more then the roughly 100 hp needed to run the gen head.

    All gas

Exactly, from their median income couch, having never set foot in a factory or launched product, they know exactly what they would have done differently than the stupid millionaires paid millions. All you gotta do is... Gee, why didn't anyone think of that, so easy.

    Any chance on flat four?

The announcement also said the engine already exists, is industrial, and is already homologated. So, that's not a flat 4.

Tarrifs on Canada. Would you still buy?

They got 1.3 billion in incentives to build in South Carolina, and haven't tapped any percentage of it's capacity yet. The only thing that would drive another plant would be somehow being unable to meet demand. They have to build one first.

    All gas

I don't know how to be delicate with my statement, but I'll try. People, in general, just have the need to try to bend everything to their liking. Like, I ❤️ farmhouses, so I'll buy this 100 year old one, and side it black with gray trim, change all the windows, put a steel roof on it, and...

Scouting the Road Ahead With Scout Motors President and CEO Scott Keogh

Weird, no TDI's, no air cooled boxers, no points and condensers.

    The future of electric vehicles

That would be a wild world lol, people mix politics with everything now.

What are you driving until release?

Never was, outside my price range.

What are you driving until release?

My Ram caught fire a couple weeks ago while hooked to the block heater 🤷‍♂️ , Now I'm driving this little Outback I got at an auction to flip lol.

    The future of electric vehicles

I didn't need a rebate or mandate to want a truck that could haul 2k, tow 10k, charge in my driveway, that I would never have to change the oil in.

Tarrifs on Canada. Would you still buy?

I'm still price/capability oriented. If the price goes over 60, I'm not a buyer.

Option for a Rugged/Waterproof Interior Trim

I'm in for the basic/fleet interior, it's my main concern with the concepts.

    Removable Doors and Rear Window

I'll be happy if I can back up with the door open lol.

    All gas

You have an option, purchase one of the many ICE vehicles on the market. I'm not here to take your choices from you, don't care what you choose to drive.
  15. Jrgunn5150

    All gas

As frequently as ICE engines have major, expensive, catastrophic failures nowadays, I have zero interest in ever paying for a new one again.

    Sound suppression

I hope they put absolutely nothing in it at all. I've put 12,000 miles on my soft top 4runner without a oz of sound deadening, my main transportation half the summer time.

    Bench Seat vs Standard

Bench only for me, no interest in buckets. Or heating, cooling, massaging, bidet's, blue tooth.. No leather or cloth either, perfectly happy with vinyl. I just need something to sit on.

    Analog Scout?

Probably wind up being 350k per unit. Many things are popular in theory until the rubber meets the road.

    Comparing preorders to Bronco sales

Well, also Ford blasted all that capacity in, and now sales have fallen and flatened, and they're using a small fraction of the capacity. Ford can absorb and write that off, Scout cannot.

    Comparing preorders to Bronco sales

What they theoretically can do vs what they will do are two different things. There's also a point of diminishing returns, where the ability to build a garrilion vehicles a second, costs way more than the ability to build 100 per day, and if people aren't buying, there's no point. I think...
