  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I still think it will be an existing engine design like the VW 4 cylinders currently made in Mexico, but either they will be built in South Carolina at the main factory or somewhere in the US to avoid any possible issues from tariffs etc. Also would like it to have port injection but I only know...

Swore I’d never buy an EV, then Scout happened

There better be Bidirectional charging on the small battery because it seems that is what you are getting if you get the harvester, and I would to want to run it like a generator to either run things or charge other EVs if needed.

    Thank you very much! (y)

    Any chance on flat four?

Not sure on that if it gets upped to a possible 50% tariff, I saw that floating around as a possibility.

    Future Opportunities

It doesn't really for me that much also, I just can put some money aside to rent a place for the 3 months for the internship since it is more for me to try to get my foot in the door and add to my resume then an actual money-making position since it is only for the summer anyway. Though, I have...

    Any chance on flat four?

What very little I could find is they make Navistar truck engines there and no small 4 cyl engines, so whatever the 4 cylinder engine is, it is probably going to have to be made in the SC factory. While doing a quick search I do not think VW makes any engines for passenger vehicles in the US, I...

    Future Opportunities

I applied for a few and going apply for the rest this weekend, not sure if I will hear anything back but maybe I will. (y)

    Any chance on flat four?

Yes ok, but I mean there are not any at least in cars being sold in the US currently, because if it is not already for automotive use it is likely it is going to have to reworked in some way for on-road regulations, emissions, etc. I am thinking that if Scout can have existing engine from...

Scouting the Road Ahead With Scout Motors President and CEO Scott Keogh

I was not sure, thanks I prefer no turbo to maybe help reliability
  10. T

    Any chance on flat four?

I agree but I think that is the most likely scenario if a flat four was going to be used.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I am ok with killing the ev tax credit, but the $1000 tax on EVs is a big no for me

    Any chance on flat four?

Flat 4 is very possible, though air cooled is as likely to happen as it being a 4-cyl diesel. This is mainly because there is no air cooled flat 4s still being made currently so if they were to do that it would require a brand new engine from scratch which I do not see Scout doing where there is...

Scouting the Road Ahead With Scout Motors President and CEO Scott Keogh

4.5 sec 0-60 on harvester is plenty since currently my Jeep probably has an 8-10 sec 0-60 time so it will be nice to beat 110 hp Toyota corolla getting on the highway for once. 😁 Though, not sure if it was confirmed or not but the harvester specs for range are great also if the harvester models...

    Please block spam accounts.

If I remember I was on around 10:30 so I guess most of them were cleaned up by then, I saw a lot of posts but most of them were coming from the same 4ish accounts, but at least it is taken care of now.

    Automatic Retractable Electric Running Boards

It would be cool, but I tend to stay away from auto running boards myself because I aways think they are going to break, so I usually stick with fixed running boards for that reason. Though what I prefer the most is I like the look of the fixed running boards/rock rail combo side steps, I...

    Future Opportunities

If in 1.5-2 years there are openings for Mechanical Engineer positions after I graduate, I will apply immediately if presented the opportunity. I would really like to work for Scout. Also, before 2 years if there are ever any Mechanical Engineering internships, I would love to apply to those...

    Paddle Shifters For Adjusting Regen

I disagree with the paddle shifters for regen, I prefer to change it once in the screen and never touch it again. Since that is how our Tesla is and what I have learn that if you get used to full regen and the vehicle stopping and holding in place automatically it is weird going back to a car...

I would like a shirt with the Traveller on it or a concept drawing would be cool.
