  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Volkswagen EVs to Get Tesla Supercharger Access

My comment was just a thought and curiosity. We had several superchargers set on fire here in Charleston last week.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Interesting thoughts. But, I think it will take more money and time than you mention. I just looked this up following the top 10 list of manufacturers producing in Mexico mentioned above in the same order... Conicidentially, all of them produced nearly or over 200,000 units in Mexico. That is...

Volkswagen EVs to Get Tesla Supercharger Access

Just had a thought. If Scout does indeed gain access to Tesla's superchargers, are any of you concerned about the negative optics and possible vandalism associated with Tesla?

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I wonder how long it would take to ramp up that much production. I am referring to not only the factories, but the employees too. And how long for vendors to relocate or change logistics. My quick guess is 3-5 years. I would also assume we are about to see used vehicle prices go up as well...

Offer it with a gas motor

It would be absolutely amazing to launch with solid state. But, I think it will be difficult to launch on time with solid state batteries. Maybe the new batteries will rapidly prove themselves and be available by then, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

This tool is so interesting I did another hypothetical comparison. I drive about 50 miles per day and that what I entered for this comparison. I put the most efficient Chevy Tahoe vs least efficient Rivian R1S. They are about the same size, and can cost similar money to purchase. Keep in...

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

Harvester will definitely require similar maintenance to any ICE. Oil and filter intervals may be a little longer due to the relatively easy use and steady rpm. Air filter will probably stay cleaner for longer as well due to its location in the vehicle. That said, my BMW iX has needed washer...

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

I really hope that with technology improvements by the time of launch that Scouts will get at least 3 mi/kwh or more.

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

I’m sorry to say it, but that’s our main issue with automotive transportation in this country. Too many people are what they call superusers. My guess is $6-7 per gallon. When prices went so high back around 2008-2010 that really curbed a lot of driving. People became very interested in...

I’m sorry but that is just not good. I’m very familiar with diesels.

Make it run on low octane (aka cheaper gas)

I would assume that since it’s naturally aspirated, it’s likely to only require 87 octane. I know there are examples of NA engine that need premium. But, usually those are higher compression performance engines.

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

I’m not familiar with the elevation changes in that part of the country. But, don’t forget that downhill you regain quite a bit of energy.

What Song Will You Play First in Your New Scout?

While I have so many epic, badass songs that I dream about being the first song it’s likely going to be whatever pop nonsense is on Hits 1 on Sirius that my kids like.

    Potential completion - Telo

If Canoo couldn’t make it, I doubt this one will either. Personally, some of these companies have great ideas, but too much hubris. They should sell their patents and IP to a brand that can make it happen and move on.
