  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Close! Although its German like Raaw (and I love their bikes), its not one of theirs. Another guess I get often from people on the trail is Nicolai. Its neither. Its a Kavenz. The same company that does 77Designs components, made a high pivot frame with swappable shock mounts (for...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

And here. https://scoutmotors.community.forum/threads/integrated-racks-into-rear-spare-tire.1072/ JHess, you are not alone :). (And bonus points if you can figure out which bike that is :P).

    Approximate Charge Time

Yep, aware of that. Just… wrote the wrong thing last time, oops! 60 am circuit, 48amp to the charger, not 50 :/! My 40amp circuit is currently doing 32amps for my charger.

    Spare tire discussion

Yes, we do. 35x12.5R20 BFG KO3’s on both of them iirc.

    Approximate Charge Time

Exactly this. Great post. I've got a NEMA 14-50 in the garage, on a 40amp circuit. My L2 charger is set to 32amps, for a total of 7.7KW per hour of charging. It does our PHEV that has a ~13.8KWh battery in under 2 hours. For the Harvesters approximated battery size of ~75KWh, it would be able...

Scout shows off the UX at CES!

So, what have we learned so far? Much of this was assumed, or inferred, but I watched this tonight, and thought I'd note some of the things I think we know more concretely than we did before. Harvester control (17:09) Auto, EV, or Max User control over remaining state of charge (you can see...

    Approximate Charge Time

I know what they're trying to do, but man, I've always thought that MPGe, is just... not a great way to convey what they're trying to convey. The problem is that your typical consumer doesn't really think about how much energy is in a gallon of gas. So displaying how much more efficient an EV...

Poll- What have you Reserved... Let's get a small idea of the take rates.

I have no plans to switch mine at the moment, but I'm open to it. It will really depend on the implementation of the Harvester, the charging infrastructure, and what our other vehicle plans are at the time. I'll consider switching from harvester to EV: Charging infrastructure gets way better...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

Yeah, I'd be surprised if they didn't include the level 1 charger? But... perhaps not? I have a Level 2 charger at home, despite only owning a PHEV (which, I'd argue makes more of a difference with a PHEV, but I digress). I leave the level 1 charger in the vehicle for road trips, and have...

    Approximate Charge Time

I've been assuming the efficiency is in the ~2 miles per KWh range. Thats based on the Hummer EV (which of course is huge, and is probably about as bad as efficiency could be with ~35-37in tires) having an efficiency of ~1.6 miles/KWh, and Rivian R1's having an efficiency of ~2.1-2.4 miles per...

Scout Motors announces in-vehicle satellite connectivity and highlights Scout Community UX interface at CES 2025

First off, any new news, is great news as far as I'm concerned. Thank you so much for sharing/keeping us updated :). As someone who wasn't around, or participating in the surveys that were sent out then, the satellite a bit of a surprise to me. Of course, I'm naturally curious how this will...

Poll- What have you Reserved... Let's get a small idea of the take rates.

The Harvester option is a Extended Range Electric Vehicle. Also known as a Series Hybrid, and a Range Extended Electric vehicle (all of those are terms you'll see thrown around, that mean the same thing). Which means it has a smaller battery pack, and an onboard gas engine that acts as a...

    Jeep Recon

Prior to the Scouts being announced, I was very interested in the potential of the Jeep Recon. As it is, the photos/general vibe of it really haven't done much for me. I have no problems with it being "not a wrangler", with a future wrangler EV coming as well. To be honest, they have needed...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

FWIW, Tesla stopped using LIDAR in 2021 (2022 for the X and S apparently). So if you've got an older Tesla, then yes, LIDAR, but for anything newer, its camera only.

What are you driving until release?

Finally grabbed a more recent shot of both of my main rides. 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0L with a 3 in lift and 31’s. And my mountain bike :). Rebuilt transmission and new tires since the last post, means it’s been driven a lot more lately (especially because someone hit our other car in the...

    Scout Traveler/Terra RC Rock Crawler?

Played around in the ditch with my new Christmas present for a few minutes today :). It goes! (Redcat Racing Gen8v2) Still have to get it out more in the future, but at least I got to try it out for 10-15min. My wife even gave it a shot :).

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Yep. As I understand it, it started as a place to rest your foot, primarily on automatic transmission equipped vehicles back when that was new. It was literally a “non functioning pedal” place to put your foot, when you were used to using a clutch on a manual transmission.

    Scout Traveler/Terra RC Rock Crawler?

Congrats! It looks stellar, and 1/18 is great for crawling around the house. In a similar vein, I ended up receiving a Redcat Racing gen8 v2 (the green 1/10th scale one) for Christmas :). It’s my first 1/10 scale crawler, and my kids can’t stop commenting on how “huge” it is. I didn’t get to...

Dedicated space for trash and tissues and overall cleanliness?

Wait. Do we get some sort of a guarantee on that?

Not sure what you mean, that looks totally natural to me. :D
