  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Any official pictures &/or renderings w/a Receiver Hitch?

My mantra is if it's standard on a base 2025 4Runner at $40K, it should be standard on a base Scout Traveler at $60K. That said, here's a base 2025 4Runner with a hitch that comes standard.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Spare Tire on the inside. Doesn't have to be a big honkin off-road tire, could be a skinny space saver or a collapsible spare.

    Gas Powered Range Extender

    Thanks!

    33 Months of EV driving...

For me the biggest difference between ICE and EV road tripping is having to plan stops. With a gas car you can exit the highway into a random town and be pretty much guaranteed a gas station. With an EV you just have to research your charge stop ahead of time. Considering most our road trips are...

    Gas Powered Range Extender

You probably know better than I do, but I'm confused on the ranges. On the Traveler Scout says... "Pure electric models offer up to 350 miles of range. Scout’s extended range models offer 500 miles of range or more through a built-in, gas-powered generator. Even in the middle of nowhere, you...

Teaser Images to what we actually got

What's the range? Having lived in DFW and working down the road from Toyota HQ having a small range would be frustrating.

South Carolina Bill Introduced - Email to Reservation Holders

One of the reasons I'm interested in a Scout is the ability to do road trips with the family so starting the journey with a road trip across the country would definitely be a great way to kick it off, especially if a factory tour/cool experience center is what we're starting with.

Scout Warns VW Dealers Fighting Direct Sales That It’s Not Playing Around

I keep thinking about this line in the letter.. ..if Scout plans to never include VW dealers in it's operations then what's the point of bringing this up?

South Carolina Bill Introduced - Email to Reservation Holders

Man I'd love to take delivery in SC, however driving 2600mi back to CA would be a challenge.

    Questions about the Harvester

The EA888 would be overkill. My guess is it'll be the EA211 3 cylinder which is currently being used in hybrid applications on some Volkswagen models. If the Harvester is a five figure option or close to it, I'm out. For comparison the REX in the BMW i3 was a $4K option so let's call it $5K for...

    SCOUT TRAVELER FAQ

Curious if you have any updates on Generator Mode. Is that essentially what the "Enjoy the Outdoors" screen is for? Further to that point, any chance of installing a 240v outlet on the cars so we could plug our Scouts into our houses for days (weeks?) when the power goes out? That would be a...

    Scout Motors at CES 2025

This is so good I'm quoting it for any Scout employees reading this thread. Not everyone will go off-roading into the middle of nowhere Moab, but everyone does experience power outages, especially those who live in more outdoorsy parts of the country. Being able to use your Scout to power your...

    Agreed, and specifically non-metallic colors.

    Scout Motors at CES 2025

Ok so in Kyles video you can see the Outdoors Menu. This is a huge deal and I'm not talking about camping.. Welcome to Generator Mode! This is something I was asking for multiple times in various threads and super stocked to see this here. Imagine the power going out at your house due to a...

    Scout Color Poll #1

Dove Blue. That with the black trim accents of the Scout would look amazing (think Cavalry Blue on 4Runner/Tacoma).

What 16 Metro's Will Scout Launch?

From what I've seen, the Rivian Outposts have a couple vehicles on hand for people looking to do a test drive while their car is charging. Overall I love the idea of the Rivian Outposts but also accept that it probably comes out of their marketing budget. Great for raising brand awareness via...

Why Scout Motors Must Assure Customers of High Quality and Well-Built SUV

It's ironic that software problems are the biggest issue on EVs yet the failures themselves have nothing to do with the car being electric which in a way is good since that's the most expensive thing to fail. Still, by the time these next-gen EVs come out I expect them to be absolutely...

    Jeep Recon

The Jeep Recon concept (which looks exactly like the production Recon) debuted in 2022 while Chris was there meaning this is a Chris-era vehicle although it's worth noting Chris spent his whole tenure at Stellantis doing interior design. To that point, it takes a team of designers to create a...
