  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Let's play " what will my Scout look like pulling my off road trailer "

Exactly the kind of challenge I'm running into. I do like the color though.

Let's play " what will my Scout look like pulling my off road trailer "

Just asked it to adjust the fascia to look exactly like a Terra and remove the script. I got a face that looked even less like a Scout and it had a large SCOUT badge. Go figure.

Let's play " what will my Scout look like pulling my off road trailer "

That is your trailer reprocessed through ChatGPT. Basically loaded in pictures of the Terra and the picture of your trailer from above and asked ChatGPT to make an image of the Terra towing that trailer in New Mexico on a dirt road with a light amount of dust on the vehicle.

Let's play " what will my Scout look like pulling my off road trailer "

I think it's because the AI doesn't have enough source material on Scout Motors to base it's images off of...even if you literally give it a source image. I've seen it alter the design to look more like a Bronco, Ram, Rivian, Land Cruiser, etc.

Let's play " what will my Scout look like pulling my off road trailer "

Despite repeatedly asking ChatGPT to not make any alterations to the Scout Terra, here's the closest I could get. Scott badge and all.

    Colorado Event

This actually gives me pause. Granted this is a concept car and it's on some big wheel off road package so it can look amazing (which it does), I hope it's not something you have to crawl up into and/or hope regular versions will be standard SUV height.

    re: the Color Options….

My favorite matte color is silver as seen on an AMG GT. It look stunning in person and turns the car into a sculpture when parked as it highlights all the curves, gradients, cut lines, etc. on the body. That said I'd skip matte paint or a matte wrap because it's a PITA to take care of. You...

    Resale Value/Depreciation

Yeah I'm a buy the car and keep it 10 years kind of person, however when it came to our ID.4 we leased to capture the tax incentive, get all the incentives that were stacked on leases, and protect ourselves from unpredictable depreciation. Since the rate baked into the lease was better than...

    Resale Value/Depreciation

Absolutely. First year depreciation on Porsche Taycan is 49%. At Scout prices that's lighting $40K on fire give or take.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Of course you can only give attention tos o Wow, I wish my gas cars had this feature. Although I see no reason not to, I'm assuming this means you could also use this to trickle charge your car if it's parked for extended periods of time?

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Not necessarily "news" but Scout made a post on LI about their careers page and used this image. What's cool is you can really see the details of how the fascia is backlit.

    What did you reserve?

That's my understanding as well. Having customers choose their options is simply to gather valuable market data and plan resources accordingly.

Someone call an ambulance. (I just asked Chapt GPT to roast the Scout Traveler)

To all people who join these forums only to say they miss the old Scout and this thing should have never been electric. See above.

Will Scout Work With Future 3rd Party Battery Retrofit/Replacement Companies? (Right to Repair)

At least here in California, a whole cottage industry has popped up to support ageing Hybrids and their batteries. I know because I recently bought a 2007 Camry Hybrid for my FIL and it has one of these refurbished batteries in it. For $750 they'll come out in a van, swap the battery pack with a...

    Scout Color Poll #1

Nantucket would never be the same.

    Scout Color Poll #1

Ok so this happened by accident. I had earlier asked it to show me what a Traveler/Fiat Jolly would look like and it was weird so I moved on. In a new conversation I showed ChatGPT a new image of a Traveler and tried to have it match a yellow that was posted earlier itt. While it got the yellow...

    Scout Color Poll #1

Probably isn't factoring a complete understanding of the vehicle it's rendering and is just making assumptions on traditional vehicles like a Bronco/etc. Remember this is still emerging tech so it won't be perfect. The crazy thing is thinking about how good it'll be in 5 years.

    Scout Color Poll #1

I've met plenty of car designers and they actually love fun stuff like this. If anything I could see them also playing around these AI tools to see what comes back.
