  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

8 lugs used to be almost exlusively on 1 ton (F350, 3500, etc.) and up trucks. Big boys indeed.

Yep, another example of trucks and suvs getting too big and heavy. This is a 1500, or what used to be called a 1/2 ton. Way too big. I would also argue that this one in particular is a Tungsten trim. So, it is aimed at personal luxury. I know all about it's America, personal freedom, bigger...

I’m just happy to see the battery technology advancing.

Desktop test successful. But, I wish I could just use the iPhone emojis when I am on mobile. This is truly a first world problem.

I’m sure it’s about data collection as much as anything.

Volkswagen EVs to Get Tesla Supercharger Access

All true and good points. I never thought about buying the licensing. I suppose they could buy the whole kit and caboodle, software and all. Maybe it’s a stretch but when a gas station is bought it’s not just the pumps. If it’s name brand you’re paying those licensing and franchise fees...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

This source couldn’t get the location of the factory correct, so suspect as it may be… If VW does this would it be made to appease the VW dealers so that they can have an off-roader? Will it be a iD.Thing, iD. Toureg? Is this possibly the path to a 2 door Scout? Or, is it all BS...

I do like the progress on the “pocket” nuclear reactors. They would be a quickly deployed boost to the grid. Just another piece of the puzzle that might allow us to get to quick and reliable electric transportation.

That might be faster than filling up with gas! I wish it was someone other than BYD coming up with this stuff.

That’s kinda what I’m thinking too. I’m interested to see what Mercedes does with theirs.

Volkswagen EVs to Get Tesla Supercharger Access

Any idea what the combined value is of all the superchargers? Do they own or lease the spaces? What I’m getting at is gas stations are bought and sold all the time. I wonder if another entity could buy and rebrand all the superchargers???

Sorry, I just saw that @R1TVT responded stating the same thing just better than I did.

As long as the adapter works. It’s not like a level 2 adapter. The DC fast charge adapter has to sync with the charger and the vehicle. That’s why I. Ant take my iX to a Tesla supercharger yet.

I completely understand that. But, its like some people boycott BP over their oil spill. Some boycott or used to boycott Citgo due to Venezuela. I could see some boycotting the superchargers due to what ever his name is, or concerned you may involved in an impromptu fireworks display or paint...
