  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Self-driving integration with Open Pilot.

Unfortunately, my plow vehicle isn't highway worthy at the moment. Strictly driveway plowing duties.

    Self-driving integration with Open Pilot.

I would fall into this camp as well, currently. I almost never use cruise control, even on the highway. This discussion does have me thinking though, that if there was a way to have a system that could satisfy those in the self driving camp without it jacking the price up (using existing...

    Self-driving integration with Open Pilot.

Does Open Pilot use lidar, or just cameras and AI like Tesla? Asking as someone new to the self driving tech, but curious to learn about it

    Interior accent color

Oh, so maybe Scout shouldn't do the Pierre Cardin interior treatment like AMC in 1972-1973. Too busy? 😂

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

^^^ This^^^ You beat me to it with a more concise version.(y)

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

The answer is an unsatisfying, it depends on several factors... 1. Battery state of charge when power goes out. 2. Temperature 3. Perhaps most important, what loads are you powering in the house? If you're looking to back up a few outlets, some lighting circuits (especially if LED lights) a...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Good info here. In addition to the outlets on the Scout itself which can power light loads directly, the V2H capability will involve additional equipment in the form of a more intelligent automatic transfer switch that will allow the Scout battery to power either your whole house through your...

    EV/Gas Scout Terra

I thought Scout has said 150 miles range on the battery for the Harvester model, then generator extends to a total of 500. Am I mistaken on that?

    Major Storms

Thanks for checking. The tree took the lines down at around 7:00 that evening and the crew was out there working on it all night. They got the power back on at 4:00 AM. The silver lining is that I got some free firewood. The town highway department guys know I burn wood, so when they cut the...

    Major Storms

High winds blew through here this evening and took down a big maple tree at the end of my driveway. It fell across the road and took down the power lines and snapped the utility pole in half. Power company crew is still out there working on it, but I'm not sure if the power will be back on when...

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

Exactly! This is a really great point, and one of the main reasons I went full BEV from the start. I want to get away from all that maintenance and adding the Harvester puts it right back into the equation

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

Lots of great points in this post. Thanks for putting into words what many others are probably thinking. Scout really is meeting the market with these vehicles, and in particular, the Harvester. We are still in that transition period where EVs have shown some incredible benefits and some people...

    Scout Color Poll #1

Yes, I think it was only available for a few years in the early-mid 70s. That car is a 74, the last year AMC made them. I'll have to double check and make sure they didn't offer it on the early body style Javelins or AMXs in the late 60s.
