  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

I’ll have to look for that, I didn’t see that information anywhere in the literature. That’s kind of disappointing.

Will harvester models be "maintenance free" like their EV siblings?

Those frequent trips to the pump got me in my EV REX. I spend about $50 a month to charge and have only bought $8 in gas in the last 5 months and that was only because someone forgot to push the power button on the charger one night. I commute about 30 miles each way to work every day.

    Welcome and Introductions!

I feel late to the game. I reserved a Traveler Harvester and I hope the reservation number doesn’t indicate my place in line. We are currently in Oregon and retiring to AZ next year. Already have visions of how this new addition will fit into our plans. I currently drive a 2017 BMW i3 REX and...

Will harvester models be "maintenance free" like their EV siblings?

Take a look at BMW i3 REX. I drive a 2017, I love having the range extender. Although people are using the term generator, a range extender doesn’t function like a regular generator. I have to get an annual oil change on my range extender. It has an automatic maintenance cycle if I drive for...

Will harvester models be "maintenance free" like their EV siblings?

I currently drive an EV with a range extender. My REX is basically a 2 cylinder engine. I have to do a once a year oil change on it. I take it to the dealership and it runs me $200.

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

I think this estimate is backwards. The range extender adds to the original configuration, so you get the 350 with either model but the onboard generator (range extender) on a single fuel tank will add an extra 150. I drive an EV with a range extender currently and the EV side gets the same...

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

If it is anything like the 2017 BMW i3 Rex that I have, it makes electricity on demand. I have a 2 gallon gas tank for my range extender that gets me up to 100 more miles depending on speed and power usage.
