  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    R2 Launch Watch

I always find it funny when people get shocked by things like this, but they don't know anything about when Tesla launched the Plaid Model S they had horrendous fitment issues and they flew in as many body tech and painters to create what was a literal assembly line of working in the parking lot...

    R2 Launch Watch

@Jamie@ScoutMotors to prevent from having the wrath of Cyure come down on y'all I strongly advise not to put any stupid sand paper stickers on her PYB Traveler :ROFLMAO:

    R2 Launch Watch

You are correct about the preparation being essential. In fact, when I was being taught the painter use to always tell me that spraying is the "easy part" and that the preparation is 95% of the job. However, the paint is the same for both metals and plastics. To make the paint work on plastics...

    R2 Launch Watch

I think what SM has shown on the Traveler with the "off road" bumpers with removal ends and the front bumper winch integration looks fantastic, and should be just as useful for both the trails, and against shopping carts. :ROFLMAO:

    R2 Launch Watch

Plastic has more "flex" to it and because of this it will bend light much easier whereas a metal surface is rigid and bends light much less comparatively.

Same, but then again you never need a winch until you NEED a winch 😅

The screw is definitely far enough from the sidewall so no problem there. In fact, you might even get super lucky and the screw just be in the lug only on not pierce the actually tire.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

It's much more noticeable when there is a huge panel height difference from one to the next, that and color are the two biggest factors. Most people will never notice it and I use to have to point these kinds of things out after collision repairs. This one of my top examples I would use when I...

I'm not sure its as bad as people are making it out to be. It looks like it just might be the panel surface difference. I had this fight many times at Tesla, (with the notorious white rear bumper mismatch) that the paint on a metal surface reflects light much differently than a plastic one, and...

Awesome! I've been waiting to see this comparison. Quite interesting as well actually, I thought the Slate was going to be smaller than R2 not the same size! But the thing I took from it the most, was a Slate with a lift kit on the AT's would be a good bit taller than R2. This bodes well for me...

Meh, it was nothing more than a rebodied, rebadged Blazer anyways and those still exist....for now lol

I saw this yesterday too, but its from a super cool upfitter company here in Atlanta called Patrol EV https://patrolev.com/ that is trying their hardest to get EV's into emergency fleets. They've made some really cool highly purposeful, useful, examples with Tesla and Rivian already. You can...

Charging at a Tesla Magic Dock Supercharger Site

Not gonna lie, my first time at a magic dock I raged a bit. Tbh I just keep my adapter in my driver door pocket and as I'm getting out I just grab it and save myself another potential rage moment. :ROFLMAO: The magic docks are nice to have though JIC, especially for new to EV owners.

Idk I think they had a good target clientele because of the success early on of Model S and X. With those models aging out, Lucid arrived on the scene to offer a brand new high end luxury option. Of course if you go after previous Tesla owners and you don't have really good working software...

First Time EV Owner: Live experience report

Apologies, I didn't mean the difference between EV and non-EV tires I was talking about the difference between OEM vs non OEM tires. Regarding the efficiency loss I would think this would be minimal if anything at all because most tire companies just focus on road noise, and ride comfort...

Agreed about the well engineered, highly efficient, and comfortable nature of Lucid's. But what really did the Lucid brand in is the terrible buggy software.

For EV's that sounds about right. Price we pay to save the world and look good doing it. :ROFLMAO:

Actually, unless you buy an extended warranty that specifically includes tires, the manufacturers wont warranty them at all. There are some, (like Logan experienced above with his Ioniq 9 and their Kumho's) that will give what is called a goodwill credit for special circumstances.

The Air is a good looking sleek looking car, but it reminded me a lot of the 2012 Kia Optima which I had and loved lol! But the moment I saw that Gravity in person I knew it was going to be a tough road ahead for them.
