  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Google Gemini AI Scout Images

We need more COLORS! Until recently, all my vehicles white, gray or silver. Oh yeah and I did have a black car way back. Apparently, these are the "go to" colors for the majority of buyers...including me...but WHY? Look in the parking lots and on the highways. I mean, how many times does anyone...

Scout Factory Extended Warranty?? Can you Beat Ford ????

I am with @R1TVT that extended warranties are "revenue generators for the OEM". It's not likely going to fall in favor of the one purchasing the extended warranty. Of course there are exceptions where it plays out in favor of the warranty holder (@cyure ;) ) and they win against the odds. I am...

Scout Factory Extended Warranty?? Can you Beat Ford ????

I would truly like a STANDARD warranty on my Scout similar to my Hyundai EV's standard warranty. 5 yr/ 60k mi b2b, 10 yr/ 100k mi pwrtrain AND HV battery. That should eliminate most anyone's concerns. EDIT: I see that others have already posted similar info under the Warranty Considerations...

Scout Concepts in Charlotte, North Carolina September 26, 2026

Same. I truly enjoyed the Irmo, SC and Training Center events and this upcoming event is just over 2 hours away. If I didn't already have family commitments, I would definitely be there. I believe that had things worked out, my wife would have attended with me. I have a reservation for 2...

    Marketing IDIOTS

I think you nailed it. And even the OG Scouts improved over time. The jump from my Dad's 800 to my Scout II had some major improvements. So as mentioned many times before, the new Scout is what might have evolved had it stayed in production over the years.

    Marketing IDIOTS

Bringing back to the topic... First of all, I am an OG Scout lover. I grew up with my dad owning a Scout 800 that could go anywhere we wanted. I enjoyed that Scout so much, my first vehicle purchase was a brand new 1979 Scout II which still runs and I still own. How many can say that? It has...

    CYURE GOES TO SC!! 8/22/2026

@nolen and I both got to go to the Training Center opening and got a guided tour around that building. As @cyure mentions, you can see a great deal of the plant in the background from the TC parking lot. My guess is that you can still drive up to the TC parking without exciting security but...

    Longevity and maintenance Questions

Well, as I said, it is a bit extreme... Now that I have actually seen the Scouts, I'm sure the temptation would eventually override my prejudices. Anyway, some Tesla owners have proven that badges can be removed or hidden if needed! :ROFLMAO:

Wow, I am really missing out! The 26th is like the only day that week I can't make work. And I am SO close.

    Longevity and maintenance Questions

Personally, I don't even consider VW's reliability history with Scout Motors since it is being built from the ground up. The only car that has ever left me stranded on the side of the road was almost 50 years ago when I was driving a VW bug from Atlanta on I-85 with a big hole in the side of the...

    First meal in your Scout

The Lizard's Thicket in Blythewood was mentioned in an old post or two. https://community.scoutmotors.com/threads/december-2024-production-center-update.1420/post-18026 Ever since I saw it mentioned, I wanted to check it out. Next time in Blythewood, I'll definitely have to.

    First meal in your Scout

I am bit off topic but... Being a BEV owner for just under 6 months now, the range anxiety slowly decreases. Of course, short trips there is none at all. Picking up at the factory and driving long distance home for the first time BEV owner, I truly understand that anxiety. I imagine that most...

Charlotte Scout Harvester Festival, September 26th

There are so many options for riding in an OG Scout. Different model years, different mods/lifts, top down/up and on road / off road. Truly all experiences I wish everyone could experience. My dad had a Scout 800 pickup when I was a teenager. There were 4 kids and a beagle in our family, so when...

Charlotte Scout Harvester Festival, September 26th

Well said. I get excited just passing an OG Scout on the road or just sitting in a lot with other used cars. It is a rare occasion. When I have mine out, someone will always stop and start conversation about it. It's just fun... I have been fortunate to see the new concepts in Columbia and...
