  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

I'm in the heart of Silicon Valley and have yet to see a customer car driving around which is odd, you'd think this region would be prioritized for early deliveries.

Scout won't like this and a lot of people here won't like this, but your loyalty is to International Scout, which no longer exists, and are under no enthusiast obligation to love Scout Motors Inc. Ultimately Scout Motors is an entirely new entity making cars that just so happen to use the...

Looking for a House to Rent – Any Help Appreciated

So sorry to hear that. My best recommendation is Furnished Finder. We've used it several times for family members with great success. It's essentially airbnb but built for traveling nurses and executives with 1 month minimum stays, but yes anyone can use it and the properties listed are usually...

    What’s your purchasing plan?

I'm kind of a combination of a couple things. I will wait for my perfect build, however my perfect build will be minimalist because modern cars come with so much already. I do not expect to purchase first model year which will gain more long term data. Of course I'm once again talking about what...

Loved my '03 A4 Avant and while I could compensate for the sluggish 1.8T with a manual transmission, it was still slow and really could have used a 6th gear. I also love my 2016 A6 but looking at the new car, hard pass. The interior is a downgrade from my car filled with cheaper materials, lots...

They're saying customer deliveries in 2028, I added the word "mid" which I believe is pragmatic not sensationalist. Even if they can pull off a miracle and deliver in Q1, which I doubt, rest of my expectations still stand.

Scout is already a year(s) behind on production. They need to get up and running as fast and cleanly as possible. Adding more supply chains, processes, etc. for BEV throws in a variable they can't afford until production is ramped and running smoothly. Especially when over 80% are PHEV...it's...

Although I reserved mine on day one, it's for a BEV which means I have no choice but to watch everyone else get their PHEVs first while I wait for BEV launch a year or two later.

Why I'm Cancelling My R2 Reservation

I think the real cost w/CarPlay is handing customer data over to someone else.

Yeah and rightfully so. IMO we're looking at the modern version of the original Ford Explorer in terms of proportions, volume, and bringing in a new set of customers for the brand..heck could even be brand defining. At least here in the Bay Area I could easily see these things being as dominant...

I should mention Whistlindiesel also took his much more expensive G63 to Moab as well The carnage was the point though.

Over on Reddit I believe we have the first customer delivery. According to him he's not an employee. He's a R1T owner and a day one "minute one probably" reservation holder.

YT'er who does crazy durability tests that ultimately destroys the vehicle. He previously brought a Hilux to Moab for similar stuff.

Are you talking about the Bronco Filson? I'm not seeing any Scout influence there. If anything I'd say the exterior color is similar to Volkswagen Atlas Peak Edition, green accents on the inside are like Explorer Timberline, and the branding is just a page out of the Eddie Bauer (RIP) book.

Relevant question since I have reservations for both R2 and Scout. Next car up to be replaced is our leased ID.4 which ends in February. Right now the main contenders are EV9 or R2. Wife loves EV9 which we test drove recently, hasn't seen R2 so can't comment. EV9 provides better value, dealer...

It's a car we're happy with for the lease price, but not a car I'd want to own. It's a good car brought down by some poor decisions made at VW, namely software, door switches/handles, and no offense to the 423 but build quality is noticeably worse than German built ID.4.'s.

Our 2023 ID.4 AWD Pro S is on the recall list (full NHTSA doc here) and according to that document, it's SK batteries made in Commerce, GA impacting 44K cars of which only 1% are supposed to have the defect. This will be the 4th recall for us, behind door handles, software, and passenger airbag...

Yeah back when I saw R2 in person it reminded me of the 2014 X3 we had at the time, just with a more spacious interior. *** Ok I looked it up just now and wow, I was bang on..
