  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Scout Factory Extended Warranty?? Can you Beat Ford ????

Been driving BEVs for 16 years now and have never bought an extended warranty. Tesla Roadster from 2010-2021 and 70k miles. Wife's first Model S, 2012-2018 and 60k miles. Wife's current model S, 2018-present and 95k miles. My Model X Plaid, 2022-present 77k miles. My wife's car has been in...

The first hybrid / EREV ?

Just to add some color to Space's comment, hybrids come in 2 flavors. Parallel or Series. Parallel is what you're thinking of where the engine can directly provide locomotion. Series is when the engine only provides electricity and locomotion is only provided by electric motor(s). The first...

If the Trail-Ready Traveler were a dog breed, which dog breed would she be?

And I'll hijack your thread and say for the "urban" version, Weimaraner. Still big but very fast and maneuverable, docked tail (ie no spare tire carrier), very smart, slightly neurotic, sleeps a lot (have to recharge ya know). A few pics of our old (10 now) girl, Kira:

    Traveler 240 outlet

Yeah, we've been through this a few times. I think they haven't done it due to design/real estate on the left rear of the Traveler. I would really like 240V/30A capability so I could power my house in an emergency (I do not lose power enough for the $10k integrated system like Ford has) but I...

    Watermark Preference

I like the 2nd one. I don't know what the Scout Community Hub is but I can read a URL 😇

    Marketing IDIOTS

Aaaaaaaand he's gone. Sssh. No one tell him there's a gas-powered version as well as a BEV. He might realize he's wrong but would never admit it. I do not have any history with Scout but from what I've absorbed since I put down my deposit is that they were the "do everything" vehicle. Work...

July 2026 Scout Motors Production Center Update

There is. Because of the weight it qualifies as a "heavy" transport/truck and so there are tax advantages (bonus depreciation, commercial clean vehicle credit, etc).

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

This ties into your other post - are you seriously doing 130kWh of driving every day? If you are then yes, you will need to dramatically overbuild your solar and storage setup to support that. If you only do that once or twice a week then the car can charge on the days you are home. But you...

    Range anxiety

How often are you driving more than 200 miles in a day? As @R1TVT said, if you need to "go to town" charge to 100% and just drive the vehicle. If that's not enough then get a Harvester. Please know that the amount of driving that you are implying is not "normal." It is way outside the vast...

    Update?!?

Sorry, what news are you hearing? What is this broken record of which you speak? There isn't much to report day to day - the team is heads down building the factory and solving the thousands of little things that come up as they refine the design while doing testing. How can you say no...

    Harvester Towing

Hmm. No invite here either. Though I was a bit late to the party.

Scout Terra, please don't let me down!!!

As I read somewhere, there are no solutions, only trade-offs. Sure, the Harvester may drop the Terra tow rating from 10k to 7k, but that is plenty to tow my 24' boat and range is much larger with the Harvester. Here's my BEV towing story.... A few years back I sold a motorcycle to a guy in...

Scout Terra, please don't let me down!!!

I think they are talking their order book. Way more Travelers than Terras. The Terra will get built but it all comes down to how quickly they can ramp and if all the pieces come together at the right time. If the Harvester engines (or fuel tanks or something unique to Harvesters) are delayed...

    Longevity and maintenance Questions

Unless you're going Harvester, there will be very few (if any) VW products in a Scout. My understanding is that the Harvester engine is going to be a (modified) VW engine. Software is rumored to be from Rivian. So I would not apply VW experiences to Scout. Now generally V1 products have more...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Jeep is promising a BEV Wrangler in 2028. My 13 year old daughter is banking on that happening (and them keeping the factory purple color). She was distraught when I told her it would like not be called a JL (those are her initials). I showed her the Recon and she was not impressed.

    SEMA 24

Jamie (Scout) has said that they will attend SEMA but not until they have production models. That will serve multiple purposes. Vendors that may want to make accessories for Scouts will be able to look at production vehicles to see if/how their stuff can mount. The units won't be as delicate...

New Scout Traveler Concept Added - Mountainside Theme

I assume you're talking about the G Wagen and it is literally the tippy top of the luxury SUV market. So clearly people will deal with a "crappy" ride for status. Now whether Scout can achieve such status is a different story (maybe they can get some rappers or pro sports players to drive...

    R2 Launch Watch

I do not use the auto tilt in my Tesla as the backup camera is more than sufficient. That being said, Tesla let's you adjust the mirrors however you want and then it saves that position as the "reverse" position. Odd that Chevy doesn't let you save that tilt position as part of your profile?

What will be your signature scent after new car smell wears off?

The funniest part is that if they're in the car at the same time, they both think my car stinks because of the other one's stench.

Gonna use the same battery tech as everyone else?

Oh good grief. How many of these threads are we going to start today? Please stop. Wimp out? Give me a break. NONE and I mean NONE of these "advanced" batteries are in ANY production anywhere. NO......WHERE...... They are lab experiments, every single one of them. Will one of them come...
