  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Loaded Traveler with Harvester?

I tend to agree with @6speed. I'm "budgeting" (who are we kidding, I'll pay whatever, but gotta have a budget in mind!) $95K, hoping that it'll be closer to $85K. I think we all have to be honest with ourselves too about what will be available at launch. There's a very low likelihood of much...

I've had all sorts of neutrals. Grays, blacks, silvers. I want color too but I have silver right now and that darn thing doesn't show any sort of dirt. It's amazing and going back to a darker color would be hard from a dirt perspective! If they offer it at launch, I'm torn between Silo Green and...

    Delivery impatience

I agree 100% on conversion rate. I can't imagine that rate is anywhere close to 100%. Many people who will have to wait for their desired build might just move on. Or like me. I have to imagine though that Scout won't switch between all 4 versions until the conversion rate on the Traveler...

    Turning off ALL notification beeps.

From the video, I got the impression they are going to make some of the sounds sound like vintage Scouts. So I'm thinking door locks, windows, etc. I'm really interested to see what they do with that sound federal law requires EVs to emit at low speed. From the video, it looked like they may...

    General suggestion

I agree with this and would also add that most consumers wouldn't find it necessary. If you're working on the jobsite, maybe, and that's why it's in the Terra and not the Traveler. They are probably doing a cost-benefit analysis. Also, 240V is a lot of power and likely requires more space. They...

Rats! That's what I was afraid of. I was afraid it would be closer to black than brown.

    CYURE GOES TO NC!! 9/26/26

Scout has said that the delay will not affect its production of the Scouts. https://motorillustrated.com/vws-canadian-battery-plant-delayed-to-2029-as-construction-continues/196604/ I'll also point out that one of the reasons the factory is delayed is allegedly to wait for new battery...

    NC Charlotte Harvester event photos

I was totally against the bench seat until I saw this. Now I'm at least open to the idea. I love having that open space where the center console is in the Rivian. It's quite functional. I know the captains chairs have a big center console there, but still have some open storage under it. Gonna...

Scout Traveler Concept with the Bench Seat - First Look

@Jamie@ScoutMotors Will the production bench seat have any sort of wireless charging spot for your phone? I think in the captain chair model has that feature in the center console area, which doesn't exist in the bench seat. At least I don't see it folded down? Or is that it on the dash above...

    Delivery impatience

Welcome to the community! Scout hasn't confirmed anything except production to start in late 2027 and deliveries in 2028. My own guess is that we'll start seeing actual trucks rolling off the line in late 2027 and we'll start getting deliveries in Q2. I'm planning for June, but I sure would...

Yes! Please let us know how it looks. I love the idea of a brown harkening back to the 1970's, but am concerned about keeping it clean (like black). If it's awesome though, I could be easily persuaded.

I think it's because MFGs don't make them. I like the idea of different colors but am afraid I'd get sick of them. Other than Borealis (purple) and some funky Bronco stuff, I can't recall a mainstream vehicle that had different colors. That's part of the reason I love Scout.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I have Gen2 and I noticed that here in Minnesota, the fans were blasting this summer. It was pretty loud. But the worst for me is the winter. When it's below 0, that heat pump whines something awful. Rivian tells me it's "normal" and there's nothing they can do to fix it. :cautious:

The 240V outlet is just like an outlet in your house. It let's you run electrical things off of it. Some things, mostly tools, run off of 240V (except in Europe where it's all 240V), but the rest of your normal household stuff runs off of 120V. That's your standard outlet. It's not possible to...

I feel like PacMist has the "safety" of silver with the boldness of a color. Perhaps good for those of us who are hesitant to jump the deep of of full color like PBY. @cyure

Ah ha! That makes more sense. Thanks for the clarification!

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

I'm with many that I also like to drive but I do want autonomous driving, as much of my commute to and from work is highways and long trips to the inlaws on interstates and state highways can get tedious. I want it mainly for interstates and highways. Level II+ is hands off on interstates and...

I totally agree with you. I've had black (never again though. Too hard to keep clean), gray, silver, etc. I want color too. That's why I'm leaning towards the PacMist. I like how Scout has some different colors. You'll totally be able to get the standard white, black and gray, but all of their...

Phone tray in door handle like Rivian R2, but with charging

@cyure posted a picture of her phone in one of the wireless chargers in the non-bench seat version and those things look massive. Like way bigger than a phone. Hopefully they charge fast too. At least 15-20W Qi2. With the bench seat, maybe they won't put wireless chargers in? Maybe to harken...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

If I recall correctly, I believe Scout has either soft confirmed a retractable shade or it's a rumor with absolutely nothing to back it up. Either one. Your choice! Seriously though, I though my R1T would be an oven with the glass roof and haven't noticed an issue. I'm in Minnesota though and...
