  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Vehicle Visualizer/Configurator Tool

As much as I want it in November, I think you're probably right. They did say by the end of the year and that's the last month of the year!

Curious about the Scout mobile app?

I have to think they are working on the app. I imagine the software engineering takes forever so they have to be working on it. For that reason, I'd expect it to be one of the last things we'll hear about, unfortunately. I have to say, I hope it's at least as capable as Rivian (and better at...

Sunshade Slider for the Roof and RGB Lighting

Gen 2 without the fancy roof tinting thing. I live in Minnesota, so it's not as hot here as it is in the South, but in the summer, we get 100+ degrees with 75+ dew points. I haven't noticed an issue with the roof making it feel like the surface of the sun. I do like the idea of a shade though...

F-150 Lightning BEV to EREV Strategy - Hank Green

I think you've identified the "problem" many of us have. I'm in the same boat as you. My daily commute, which is about 99% of my driving, is about 60-70 miles. For that, I'll only be using the battery on the Harvester. I'm more worried about the gas getting stale than anything. But I need that...

F-150 Lightning BEV to EREV Strategy - Hank Green

@SpaceEVDriver , you lost me at "math!" :ROFLMAO: So glad to have you here for the hard stuff! I'm with you though, I think the weight will be about the same between the two. I think the generator, gas tank, exhaust, etc., will make up for the weight of the larger battery. My R1 weighs about...

Scout Concepts in Cambridge, MA, October 16-18, 2026

People from Wisconsin would be absolutely stoked to hear you stay that, considering the western border of Wisconsin is the Mississippi! :ROFLMAO:

You know, I don't know what I would call it. When I think of the Midwest, I think of flat land and farm fields. I just don't think of Illinois as that. Maybe it's because Chicago is so huge and cosmopolitan that it obscures my thought of the rest of the state of Illinois.

Chicago is a great city. Awesome. Love But from a Midwesterner, it is not Midwestern. :p

Sunshade Slider for the Roof and RGB Lighting

I thought the same as you before I bought my R1. I really thought it would be like the surface of the sun. But I've not noticed any issue with it. Now in fairness, I live in Minnesota, so not the South where you guys get really hot.

    Brake pedal behavior: Preference?

Maybe I'm looking at it incorrectly, but I've always looked at my regen setting as a driver preference on how quickly you want to stop. There are some who come zooming up only to cram on their brakes and some who seem to coast for a half mile before stopping. Keep in mind, the higher the regen...

    Brake pedal behavior: Preference?

Maybe it was because you were sitting in a Ford? :ROFLMAO: I jest, I jest. My dad was a Ford guy. But seriously, maybe it was because it was a Ford?

    Brake pedal behavior: Preference?

Probably because Rivian's hands-free is all over the place! :p I say that as a Rivian owner who loves the product and recommends it to anyone who asks (and lots who don't) but the hands-free sure leaves something to be desired right now.

^This. Totally this. We all love Scout. We all love how they are interacting with us and how they seem be involving us to some extent . But let's not be mistaken here. Scout is a company. A business. The sole purpose of a business (except for non-profits) is to make money. The more vehicles...

    Scout Color Poll #1

100%. I think, however, it took some time for those Scout colors to feel timeless. They feel timeless now, but I'm guessing that in 1989, they felt dated. That's my concern. Seeing @jdm111er.28078 's charge above (thanks for that!), I'm leaning towards Silo Green so I can be one of the 1.5%. 😎

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

You most certainly will. In the first year nonetheless! I went from about $300 per month in gas to about $40 a month in electricity with basically the same efficiency on both vehicles (not great on both).

    Scout Color Poll #1

The decision on color is going to be so hard for me. Not because I don't know what I like. I like color. I really want a colorful Traveler. Orange is my favorite color so that would be amazing. But I'm very concerned about three things. One, will I get sick of it? This Traveler is going to be my...

    Brake pedal behavior: Preference?

I don't use the regen option on my truck. Set it to "standard" the day I got it and have never changed it. Couldn't even tell you how to do it. Same here: I only use the brake when something unexpected happens or when I mash the gas too hard in reverse and it lurches back. :p

How would you build your Scout?

Well that's unfortunate. I have terrible inner ears and get car sick and sick on planes very easily (I have a prescription motion sickness patch that really helps). I've not this problem in my Rivian. We you the one driving and still felt sick? It happens to me at times when I'm a passenger but...

    Brake pedal behavior: Preference?

For those of you interested in how Scout might use one pedal driving, as I was watching Kim Java's review of the Scouts at the Scout Harvester Festival in NC a couple of weeks ago, Chris Benjamin was showing off the UI and he toggled to this screen. One pedal driving is in the upper left tile...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I think that's where companies like Rivian and Scout are getting it right. Right now with the technology we have and the current environment, this is going to swing back and forth. There's going to be demand for BEV when gas prices are high and then demand will wain when gas prices are low...
