  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

If I saw an ad for that watch I'd immediately assume it was connected to the vehicle. It even has the same color notes.

    R2 Launch Watch

Yes I am having a hard time convincing my better half that EV is the right move given our current situation (both adults in the household are now remote/occasional business travel) in the short term. She thinks I should go for a hybrid but I'm hoping that my car holds out until the Scout arrives...

For some people a 600 mile "tank" means they need to "fill up" once a month for... hold on I'm being handed a note... no this can't be right... pennies on the dollar?!!!?

    R2 Launch Watch

Yes- R2- my reservation window is October/November. If I end up saying no, I'm back to being all in on Scout. R2 was more of the immediate need (was commuting ~230 miles a week)

    R2 Launch Watch

I'm thinking about backing out on my reservation, but I still have a few months to think about it. I changed jobs so am now working remote, and my car ('19 Crosstrek, 85k mi) is paid off. Do I want a monthly payment? How much longer will my car hold up before it has a repair that would make...

    R2 Launch Watch

I was originally looking at the Grey but I don't think it's on the table anymore with these issues. Gotta look at it under 20 different lighting settings to make sure everything matches. Assuming I make the move.

    Carplay unconfirmed?!

This isn't 100% what you're looking for, but with CarPlay (and I'd assume AA) Carrot will pull up the radar for you in-app. We used it on our most recent road trip since we were skirting around some pretty wild thunderstorms and were trying to figure out if/when it made sense to make a pit stop...

    Carplay unconfirmed?!

You should try it out! Waze will (usually) give those notifications even if you aren't actively using the Nav and just have the map up. And if you spot something you can just press 2 buttons to report it or use your voice.

    Carplay unconfirmed?!

That's how our Volvo was until last year when they finally added the Waze integration over to the cluster. It only shows the "notifications" on the infotainment, but it will add the blue pulse/icon on the road when something's coming up on the cluster which is super helpful. Watch out for the...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Our old Subaru Ascent (first one off the lot where we lived!) had the captains chairs. I go back and forth if I like that (2/3) vs the Volvo (3/2). The nice thing about having three seats in the middle row is its a barrier to keep the dogs from roaming lol.
