  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    CYURE GOES TO SC!! 8/22/2026

It's a fairly funny story - the '93 Pathfinder was my first manual, and my first new-vehicle purchase (post college, first real job, etc.). The term SUV, if it was used, wasn't quite as pervasive around then. My friend and I drove to VT to go skiing. We pulled up to a skiing outfitter to...

One thing I'm gonna hate to see is the appearance effect of a State License Plate.

I've never been serious off-roading, rock crawling, etc. But I have been off road. (like when I forgot to put it in gear and it rolled out of the parking lot, onto the road, off the road, and down into the field in the snow.)

Same. As much as I'm looking forward to it, my wallet can easily talk me out of it.

My first Pathfinder ('93) had the spare tire mounted inside. So much room was lost. I put the rack on later. I won't have a vehicle that doesn't have a spare, and the rack also looks very cool. But, I'm superficial like that.

It's all relative! Having gone to college in Charleston with no a/c, 89 is a treat!

    Harvester Option

So, given that the Harvester will put the "engen" in the area where a spare tire is typically located, can I assume that the BEV will also use that space for battery?

    Not a fan - sorry.

    Harvester Option

I hope so. Then again, my 2006 Pathfinder had a chain. It exploded, luckily in my driveway, when my son started it up. Apparently there was a common problem of that generation with over-tensioned chains. Of course, I also had every single one of the known common problems. Radiator and...

    CYURE GOES TO SC!! 8/22/2026

After my fishing trip in the Maine Northwoods, I drive straight through to Annapolis. Once I part ways with the relatives in RI, I'm home around 1-2 am. Fastest RI to home segment. Cuts an hour or more off of the time during the day. I can make in 6 or under what normally takes me near 8...

    Harvester Option

So, one of my decision points for BEV/EREV is a need for more details about the Harvester. Is there another thread with any actual details (besides the expected ranges)? I want to know things like where it will be, how large it will be, how much space will I lose? Is there any indication of...

Would love to. But I'll be headed to Dollywood that next week and then Charleston later in September. I'm trying to at least drive by the factory and smell the Scouts growing.... FYI, itsa gonna be packed in Columbia. SC students move in this weekend.

LOL! That's fantastic. You should make a coffee table book of photos of a photographer ;) My wife has a cousin (artist-photographer type). He has a coffee table book called Waffle House Vistas. No lie - it's a book of pictures taken looking out the windows of Waffle Houses across the south...
