  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

New Scout Traveler Concept Added - Mountainside Theme

Please no Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT for me. I have a set on my Jeep right now and thinking of disposing them at less than 4k miles due to the road noise. Trail ready, probably apt. Looks like something for a city bicycle trail more than off-road. Oversized rims really let those sidewalls...

New Scout Traveler Concept Added - Mountainside Theme

Have to admit, of all the builds so far, this one interests me the least. I guess I just don't really get it. Black vehicle in Texas is an easy bake oven. Wood accents look like budget wafer board (made some college furniture out of that). Other than the running board, it looks practically...

Charlotte Scout Harvester Festival, September 26th

Reservation made - it's only 1200 miles... But that road trip was already planned, I need to be in Jacksonville the next day (5.5hrs, easy). I usually only manage one major road trip a year, so it is amazing that I can fit this stop into that existing trip. Only potential issue is if the...

    Popular Common Builds?

They can modify the reservation system to give themselves an idea of demand. Right now I know it separates out Traveler/Terra and EREV/BEV. It seems to me that bench vs bucket should not be a huge issue. Different roof tops is far more structural. That said, I would be shocked if mostly...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Interesting... Right now I am planning a road trip for that weekend (need to be in Jacksonville on the 27th, driving for South Central Texas) to pick up a powered canoe/micro panga (think Gheenoe, but with more bow). Had already thought about adding a day of driving to the trip to visit...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I don't have a Bronco, but I have a sleeping platform in my LJ. Just wish I could run AC during the night. One way or another, I plan to have a platform in my Scout. Pretty sure I will be able to make it fit as long as the back seat folds down.

    Class V hitch option?

I think the key here is max towing capacity is generally stated with a weight distributing hitch. Read the fine print, and without that, the 10% rule 1/2's (about) your towing capacity. There is a reason most heavy trailers are 5th wheel as well. 5th wheel put the weight over the axle, so...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

If I got 10k worth of towing capacity, I could tow my Airstream - but range coupled with lack of high speed charging would still make my F250 more convenient. I honestly doubt I will tow much over 3k with my scout (which is where my light boats or lawnmower trailer hit).

Level I Charging at 30 amps (RV type setup)

While my RV is 30amp and only uses a single phase, many RV's use 50amp split phase - which is pretty much is what you need for a level 2 charger. I think by code, it will need to be derated a bit from max level 2 - but it will get you mostly there. Full power level 2 needs to be hardwired to...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

10k lbs towing weight sounds great - but if you are like me, all my trailers that are anywhere near that are 5th wheel. I am not sure if there is an EV truck made that is designed for a 5th wheel hitch. I think all my bumper pulls max out at closer to 5k. Then if I really want to be specific...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

My F250 can hit about 500 miles on a tank on a good day, till I strap a trailer behind it (then it is closer to 350). And honestly, I am a lot more picky when I am towing that trailer and have to fill up. It is a nightmare at some gas stations with 30' of trailer behind you. With an EV, if...

    AMP power steps

I can fairly easily still get into my 4" lifted Jeep without a step - so steps are not a deal breaker for me. But I have to admit, if it is offered I probably will be interested. I use the power step every time I get into my F250. Likewise, the AMP non-powered tailgate step is probably the...

No more battery only option, like ever?

My humble understanding is more effort is being put into the EREV line, as it is not only more complicated - but the BEV line had a head start. Since EREV's have about 4x the reservation, it is reasonable to assume that more production will be focused on it. Likewise, I personally feel that...

2 medium Ruffland kennels are exactly what I am hoping to fit in the back.

    Carplay unconfirmed?!

It is a "me" thing, but the primary thing I liked about the old VW navigation is that it used way less keystrokes to get to the address. State was assumed, but could easily be changed. Start typing the state, the assumption would change to autofill. 2-3 characters later, all autofill options...

    Carplay unconfirmed?!

I don't use carplay every time I am in a vehicle. If I am not using maps - I can just use BlueTooth to use the stereo for audio from my phone. I pretty much hate giving up the functionality of using my phone for navigation though. I have never owned a vehicle where the manufacturer has...

    Interior Dimensions

Labs. Right now my current kennels are 30.5x20x23.5 (length, width, height-this is pretty small for a Lab, but smaller is safer for a vehicle). So my main issue will probably be the length. The shape and height of the rear opening may limit how tall the platform that they are on top of is...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

While I can love the looks of a 2 seater - they are a pretty niche market. As for the Telo towing 8k. As already mentioned, short wheel bases and towing don't play well together. I am sure it can pull it - but pulling and safe towing are 2 different things.

    Interior Dimensions

Well, I have 2 basic hopes. One is that I can fold the second row down and have room to sleep. Given I can do that in a Jeep LJ, I don't think that is asking for that much. The second is room for 2 dog kennels without giving up the second row seating. That might be a harder ask. In neither...

    Interior Dimensions

I don't think final interior dimensions have been released. There are a few posts here and there where people have taken measurements at viewings. We can also get an idea of possible interior dimensions from calculation what is possible from the exterior dimensions. My wag is that at least...
