Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim.     It doesn’t take much to build a basic a logic check in that says something like, “if the engine is running, use its waste heat; if it’s not running, use the heat pump; if you need more than the heat pump can generate, then start the engine.”

    To be clear, there’s nothing wrong with the Silverado as a general truck. It’s just not as comfortable as the Lightning, and isn’t the step up I had hoped it would be. And the annoyances (rear charge port, no Start/Stop button, etc) are enough to make it feel that it wasn’t worth the trade.
