Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

    Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

    How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

    Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy.     We have reasonable expectation that Scout’s term, “expected to start under $60k” is for the base model, at least for launch. Perhaps sometime a year or three after deliveries start Scout will release another, lower-priced trim. What nobody, probably not even most of the people at Scout Motors...

    I think many of the “appearance” packages could easily be after-purchase add-ons. But if you want, say the air suspension rather than “normal” suspension (assuming for the moment that those are options), you’re going to want that installed at the factory—aftermarket installers *and calibrations*...

    Thanks. Those sliders are very close to the body panels. I’d be concerned that they’d work best on concrete curbs in the ‘burbs rather than misshapen rocks in the wild.

    Ford allows this. Kia allows it. Hyundai allows it. Lexus allows it. Most EV manufacturers who have an app allow start/stop charging commands from the app. I think GM is an anomaly.

    Did you get a photo of the rock slider to rear tire area? I know this is concept, but I’m still super curious about how they imagine a rock slider installed at their accessory park looking. To me a rock slider doubles as a step (the photos I can see suggest it’s a little too skinny for that)...

    I really don’t know. It’s like GM took the least experienced truck people and put them in charge of truck design and took the least experienced EV people and put them in charge of the UI/UX design. And then each of those teams asked AI to generate a solution to their problem.

    What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

    If Android Automotive would allow Android Auto to work, I think most of the issues would disappear. It used to be side-loadable, but I don’t think it is now. I haven’t tried on the truck yet. I wanted to give Automotive a long trip to see if I could put up with its issues.

    We can’t afford any changes at this time. We realistically couldn’t afford the switch to the Silverado, so… We’re stuck with it and will learn how to live with its differences.

    The main takeaway from this 4700 mile road trip? The Lightning would have been a better truck to do this trip with. The range benefits just weren’t strong enough to overcome the comfort, storage, and other benefits of the Lightning. The rear seats in the Silverado fold forward instead of back...

    Our local GM/Chevy dealer (we have no competition within a brand and almost no competition between brands) is anti-EV. So I bought the hardware needed to do my own diagnostics, updates, and digital/software repairs.
