  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

I hear you about the leather and agree with you on most of your points. Yes, many vegan leathers are just vinyl. But, many of them are not petro-based. There are plant based leathers. I also like recycled content. Keep the ideas and opinions coming. Scout is paying attention.

I am not totally opposed to the license plate being offset. It is somewhat unique. But, I hear you. I like symmetry too.

Oh and I forgot another highly invasive tree was introduced here. The Chinese Tallow. Its wood is also decent looking.

I like this idea… to expand on it a bit, invasive species may be of use. Bradford (Callery) pear is highly invasive and actively being eradicated in South Carolina. It makes nice looking wood. This bowl is made of it. Sweet gum is another. While not invasive they are a pain with their...

Yeah it would need to have some sort of finish applied while I guess is opposite of the point of corden.

Check out this color from sunbrella. That stuff is super tough and it has some texture. It’s called Savane Peat.

I’m with you. I have real leather now, but could care less. My wife has BMW’s synthetic leather and it’s great. But, that’s also why I mentioned wool. It’s certainly from an animal, but it’s not harmful if done properly. It’s sustainable, natural and looks and feels great! I think the floor...

Hmm. Interesting idea. Do you like corden steel?

I agree that for offroad oriented it needs to be rugged and easy to clean.

Are you talking about the wood that Scout showed, what I showed or wood in general?

I completely understand your use case. For me I’m looking for aero and aesthetics.

The issue is that the Scout has a separate, removable bumper. Nowadays almost everything has a bumper cover. I was looking at the Range Rover EV to see what they did and it is probably one of the weakest parts of the design. I guess it is fine, but Scout could do so much better with an...

Choices are good! It would be nice to be able to choose the wood or material for the applique so you are not locked into one depending on your upholstery selection. I know, I know, I am just adding cost and complexity. I wonder what the "tweed" is made of. The pictures remind me of the wool...

Hemp wood. I think this is also very nice.

I’m certainly guilty of BMW bias!

So I took a swing at some personal touch changes for my ideal Scout. The Mountainside is still too tall and off-road oriented for my needs. I changed the ride height to what I envisioned as the aero/street setting on air suspension. I changed the wheels to 20” with 285/60R20 Michelin Defender...
