    Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

    How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

    Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy.     It never crossed 5% of total f150 sales in any year, was losing money on every unit sold with no path to profitability. They needed to do something different. I hope the EREV lightning gets here soon, would be a great compliment to BEV small truck

    This pretty much matches Tom with Fully Charged. 260+miles on the ATs. Something just off with the OOS test on the AS. Either way, the EPA rating for highway seemed about right

    Everybody was pretty shocked to see Launch edition R2 loaded up and under $60k, but the Scout is much bigger vehicle and will come with another $5k in battery costs. They REALLY gotta leverage VW procurement advantages to stick to the previous pricing targets...but they haven't backed off yet...

    Jamie mentioned they were already North of 180,000 at the beginning of July. Based on the daily adds to the Reservation FB Group, especially the last few days, that number is increasing at a great pace.

    BMW iX3 and iX5 range

    The ix3 EPA rating isn't 500 miles - that's the much more generous WLTP rating. It's top level EPA rating is 434 miles and takes a massive 51 mile hit just switching from Summer to All Season rubber, dropping to 383miles. It's probably at least 500, more likely closer to 1,000 lbs lighter...

    If anyone has the actual spec, would love to see it. I've searched the heck out of the subject and have found references that do say it requires "minimal battery level" required to operate the system - but without the SAE spec in hand $$$, we're all subject to hallucination.

    For sure. I bet it's North of 7k lbs when all said and done - I'm just pointing out the gap this product can fill. Most legit offroad rigs are in the 3500-5000lb range. Anything bigger or smaller either can't standup to the trail abuse, or can't fit

    Yeah, agree that Ram EREV is the ideal setup for frequent and heavy towing. Scout though fills a good gap for those towing a sub 5,000lb adventure trailer, able to go where the vehicle can go

    Absolutely. I'll have 2 years in the bag of mental planning almost daily on how best to use the setup. One thing that I do plan on is still having a separate power supply of sufficient amperage to run things off-grid because utilizing good UPS capability is important. I really don't want to...

    It kinda depends on how you define maintenance. I've had BEVs in for software glitches and recalls, etc. far more than our ICE vehicles, but there's no doubt that the daily/scheduled maintenance is pretty much ZERO.

    We certainly don't discount the need for BEV and in fact would have BOTH if they'd fit in the garage side by side. We'll likely cash in our r2 reservation in November.
