  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    FB find of the day

I figured but didn't see the male end on the flap and the receiving end sort of looks like a large, recessed barrel plug.

Not an issue if the car is gone when I get back form shopping!

Or just add a solar charger and leave the fob on the dash while you shop for a couple of hours.... Doors unlocked of course. I'm full of good ideas this evening.

First Time EV Owner: Live experience report

I agree including a spare is the way to go but be careful when pulling that 33" or 35" tire off the tire carrier! I'm hoping Scout will have underside storage as an option as well, at least for 33's.

I have lived this experience. Not fun. That said, this sounds like more of a civil engineering problem than a vehicle acceleration one. Even with utlra fast acceleration, human reaction itme and judgement (not questioning yours) play a large role when navigating the scenario you described. I...

    R2 Launch Watch

I 100% agree and if Scout can pull off an $85k launch vehicle with a healthy uptake and a receptive response from the public and the media then I would actually be thrilled for them. I'm a patient buyer and can wait for a trim that meets my price/feature requirements and if it doesn't work out I...

    R2 Launch Watch

This is exactly the challenge Scout is facing. I hope they can pull off the launch without a majority of their fan base feeling dissappointed by pricing. For now I'm persoanlly channeling @cyure - Hope and faith and rooting for Scout at the same time. Great product, great people.

    R2 Launch Watch

I agree and my post was meant to be primarily about public perception towards a large price differential between announced and delivered. The R2's announced price of $45k and their delivered price $57,500 (without destination - apples to apples) is close enough ($12,500) with the bells and...

    R2 Launch Watch

I get launch edition pricing being elevated and there is certainly some value associated witht the added features, but advertising $60k and launching at $85k - 90k is a really bad look. The puiblic has seen this show before and people are upset almost everytime. The launch headline becomes Scout...

The 4Runner's air dam is comically large and hangs super low for an offroad vehicle, but it makes for a great example.

Will the Scout EREV be obsolete by the time it gets here in 2027/28?

I took AI to mean "algorithm" in this case. But I too am not a fan of AI as the answer to everything. It can make a great wrench but almost always fails when used as a solution. AI aside, @ROMR_Casey 's idea is solid. Here is an emdash for your amusement — (not AI generated).

Will the Scout EREV be obsolete by the time it gets here in 2027/28?

I hope the Scout engineers are paying attention! That would be a great feature but would take some integration into the navigation and battery management systems. Then again, battery conitioning is already doing something similar so the plumbing is already there I'd imagine.

Will the Scout EREV be obsolete by the time it gets here in 2027/28?

This sounds like an excellent topic for a pod cast! So many questions remain to be answered regarding vehicle configurations, accessories etc. A couple of considerations. Rear lockers appear to be standard across future configs and hopefully, 33" tires will be available with 18's. Less rubber...

    R2 Launch Watch

They must have a regional strategy of some sort. I have a delivery center within 5 miles of my home and ordered within a minute or two after orders went live. My delivery window is December - January. I'd prefer a Scout so the timeline doesn't bother me. Just thought I'd share a data point.

First adventure with the Scout Traveler From Scout The America

245 Wh/mi is Tesla model 3 efficiency territory (over 4 miles per Kwh) When I checked ABRP the reference consumption was 576 Wh/mi. That is hopefully a very conservitive guestimate. They also estimate the battery to be 180Kwh which equates to 1.9 miles/Kwh. I'm hoping the vehicle is more...

Is there a way to change the wake phrase? "Vivian" was the 81st most popular female name heading into 2026 and has been in the top 100 since 2023. And let's not forget its popularity in the 1920s and '30s!

Just call it a range extending bench seat in the poll and it will do fine!

Good company indeed. I was looking for a sympathy emoji so thanks for that! :)
